This Thames Sunday Lunch Jazz cruise, was given to me from my son as a 60th birthday present. I could not have asked for more. As well as being a glorious sunny March Sunday, being several months after my birthday, it somehow spread the occasion. Having arrived at the jetty 30 minutes before the start, we were rather concerned at what seat we might get, as 90% of the passengers were in front of us. However we need not have worried, the vessel having total glass sides and top, our view was absolutely fine. The whole atmosphere from start to finish was totally relaxed, with the staff being very friendly, always helpful but unobtrusive. Going upstream for nearly the first hour, was a pleasant surprise and so gave us views of the Thames we had not seen before. Of course you end up doing the traditional sightseeing stretch, going under Tower Bridge. The three course meal was delightful and stretched out over the majority of the nearly three hour trip. The jazz combo just added to the whole atmosphere; very professional but not as loud as to prevent conversation. As this was present was given as a Red Letter day, we were not aware of the potential upgrade package, which we gather included a professionally taken photograph, bottle of wine and window seat, which we may just have availed ourselves of. However this in no way detracted from a wonderful day and only now having looked at the price, we are seriously thinking of purchasing it as a wedding gift for relatives.
