“A dangerous waste of time!”

Written on: 29/05/2012 by NeilFuller (1 review written)

I purchased two vouchers at Groupon for an Allstars Driving Academy 1 Hour Drift racing experience for my son and I.

We booked on to an 11 O'Clock session, for which we arrived, as instructed, at 10:30.

We stood around waiting until about 11:15, after which we signed our names on a piece of paper and were given our "briefing".

The briefing consisted of a disinterested person (who I later found out was the Co-owner) telling us that we would each have 3 goes in the car, the helmets are "on the ground outside" and that he hoped to get us in to the cars around 1:30!!! Several of us voiced our dissatisfaction so they did manage to get the "rides" started at about 11:45.

The waiting area turned out to be a corner of the car park, taped off with red and white barrier tape. There was no proper physical barrier between the cars and the participants, which I think is extremely dangerous.

The cars themselves look like they are ready to fall apart, constantly needing the bonnet up because they've gone wrong. One of the cars did have a 4-point harness whilst the other had a standard seat belt that didn't work properly.

The actual experience was entertaining but I was in the car for my 3 laps around a car park for less than a minute.

Both my son and I had two goes, after which Mr Co-owner looked at me and said "You're done - You can go"!!!

The whole experience was not good and, if you haven't purchased already, don't. If you have, ask for your money back now!
