FANTASTIC DAY!!!!

I had a voucher given to me by my partner for christmas, after a lot of thought i decided to drive the LAMBO LP640 at Longcross , 23/07/12.
After some awful weather, the rain finally left to leave a lovely sunny day!
I found the event very well organised, the registration was slick, & everything was explained about the day,(although all this info WAS in the e-mail confirmation received beforehand!)I went prepared to pay the £25 insurance waiver, & the £35 for the memory stick to record my drive! But i know at least one person who didnt follow instructions to hand the memory stick to the instructer as you enter the car, & so didnt get their laps recorded!!!
I purchased 1 lap in the Ariel Atom which i drove before the Lambo. Everything was explained regarding the Atom while in the "pits" it was a tricky car to drive, with no power steering or other driver aids! but what a fantastic experiance!! The aceleration was blinding, & the car handled amazingly around the entire circuit, just over too quickly!!!!
Following this i was called up to drive the Lambo. This in my opinion was by far the best looking car, in a pearlised white! the instructor Ralph, explained the car, controls, & how the drive would go, before getting me to drive to the photographer at the track entrance, where photos were taken of me in the car. Once the circuit was clear, i was told to accelerate onto the track & go up through the gears to 4th gear where we would spend most of the time.(the torque is amazing!)The car was VERY quick off the mark, & all too soon we arrived at the first of several chicanes,(positioned to keep your speed in check, UNFORTUNATLY!!)It handled superbly throughout, although a very wide & heavy car! I was able to reach a speed of 98 mph in the Lambo, & 87 mph in the Atom. The instructors advised, & encouraged throughout the drive, & were more than happy for you to put your foot down on the straights!
After the drives, my partner & i paid £25 each for a "HOT LAP" in a ford focus RS, driven by a BTC driver. This was amazing!! like being on a rollercoaster, he threw the car round the circuit like the professional he was!!! being able to ignore speed limits, & braking at the last second for the bends! HIGHLY RECOMENDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Following all the driving, i went to the photo truck to veiw my photos, & pick-up my certificate. The photos were amazing,taken by a professional motor racing photographer while you drove down the home straight! I chose one i wanted printed, & the entire collection were put on disc for a cost of £35, which allthough sounds expensive, when you see the quality you wont be able to resist!!
All in all, a fantastic day, & i cant wait to do it again!!
By the way, ANYONE with a full driving licence, regardless of AGE, can do this experiance, & can also buy laps on the day!!
