“90% pain in the backside 10% brilliant”

We have had this car for 6 months now and covered about 10,500 miles made up of driving in all types of driving situation, including snow.

PROS: Great size for a family car
Engine (when working) is absolutely brilliant, great for overtaking
Good for tall people
Very predictable handling
Good motorway cruiser

CONS: Very unreliable
Very expensive to fix
Not much scope for DIY repair
Interior and wipers designed for left hand drive, very poor.
ABS kicks in far too early under very hard braking, especially over bumps.

Faults: weeks turbo overboosting
drivers seat brok at the fron mounts so seat moved
fuel cap sensor
front windows play up by going down all the way before going up
Turbo now underboosting leading to not being able to keep up with lorries up hills, dangerous for overtaking. Currently and expensively undiagnosed.

Much as I want this car to be good I hate it passionately and for the time being have to put up with it and hope it isn't killed off by any of the other many common faults in these cars. Don't make the same mistake as me, do the research and you'll find these cars are not to be touched with a bargepole.
