KyraMiller's review of Whitegates Estate Agents

“Bad service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by KyraMiller on 27/09/2016

After paying a holding fee then being given a moving in date we get emails from Whitegate bootle telling us we need to now deal with the landlord hub which wants more references and guarantor employment details of guarantor and details of their manager so they can get revenues. It's money after money and no one to help. The staff in the bootle office are rude, unhelpful and treat customer like something a dog drops from its behind. You fill in forms online, form after form and get no closer to moving, the the landlord hub based in Peterborough send forms asking a million to one questions when you try to submit the form it comes back with wanting more information. So this is how Whitegates work, Landlord puts house up for rent to Whitegate, customer contacts Whitegate, customer views property, customer fills in forms pays holding fee, which is not a holding fee because you don't get that back. Whitegate checks customers form gives customer moving in date. Customer receives email or telephone call from Whitegate saying that landlord now wants guarantor so landlord hub send email wanting you to fill in form then print consent form sign scan back into computer then email back with reference. All this and you have given notice to your landlord because you have been told a moving in date but can't move because Whitegates Bootle can't work out what they are doing so looks like we are going to be homeless. Looks like We will have to take Whitegates to the small claims court.

Dear KyraMiller

I am sorry you are dissatisfied with our service. Unfortunately referencing is a standard procedure across the industry. If there are any non disclosed issues on the application form which prevents you from meeting the required criteria then Landlord Hub will always request a Guarantor to protect the Landlord.

Moving dates are initially pencilled in using the data from the application form but once issues are raised that we had no prior knowledge of then they will inevitably be subject to change.

Reference fees are non refundable and this explained to you on the form you completed and signed for. We have to pay Landlord Hub for every reference we submit and have to cover any expenses we have incurred.

Please feel free to write to me direct at 9 Harris Drive, Liverpool, L20 6LD. I will be happy to investigate this matter.

Kind regards
