I used david st james after having found a short let property on the net advertised by them. I was told to deal with a gentleman who took me to view the property. He asked for a 500pound deposit. I gave it to him in cash as their pay pal payment was going through they said.

I was informed that my offer had been accepted and I should pay remaining 2267pounds, which I did immediately.

Few weeks later just a day or two before the tenancy was to start, I got a call from him who said its no longer possible to go ahead with the tenancy as the landlords who were renting it are having a divorce and the court has decided not to allow the property tp be let.

I asked them what about my money? He said please send an email to accounts@davidstjames.co.uk

After having sent almost 10reminders and many many follow up calls, (much of the time which were never answered by him), finally I got the 2267pounds rent back. However kept being told that can't speak to anyone only email accounts. Not even given a contact person and even he refused to help!!!

The five hundred pound 500pounds holding deposit they are yet to refund and now I'm told that he has left the company and after many reminders and telephone calls again I finally got a response from a new recruit in accounts dept who says will investigate matter !!! Bloody hell and now asking for me to again provide evidence and babk statement showing the 500pounds cash deposit given to him !!

Bloody hell u cause so much frustration to a client by cancelling him 2days before tenancy is due to begin and then ten different ppl deal with him and not a single time is it possible to speak to an idiot who agrees yes deposit was received and will refund, but rather say that not showing in our records!!!
