Absolutely Terrible!

Our experience of Connells has been terrible and we would definitely recommend avoiding them at all costs.

Initially things seemed to go well as a buyer was found relatively quickly and a price was agreed for the property. However, everything went downhill very quickly from there.

We were not provided with any updates at all and it was always up to us to chase them. A satisfactory reply was never available at first point of contact so we always had to wait before receiving any sort of answer - and when that did arrive, it always seemed like a brush off or stalling tactics and always in favour of the buyer rather than us - ironic, given that we were the people paying them the fees.

After 8 weeks of very little contact and being told "everything was going fine" we finally received an update stating that the buyer was being advised not to proceed with the sale due to an apparently unknown maintenance cost. An approximate cost had already been given to our solicitor (who had heard nothing from them either) Essentially, nothing had happened for 8 weeks.

Added to our frustration was the fact we had started to look for another property to buy and had had an offer accepted elsewhere. This purchase was dependant on the sale being handled by Connells.

We were advised by them that the sale could potentially take another few months so after spending time and money searching and being lied to by the company, we decided to dis-instruct them and unfortunately pull out of the subsequent purchase.

They are the worst agents we have ever come across and would never consider using them again. We will also advise friends and family to stay well clear if thinking of selling a property.
