Back in the old days when Bridgfords were trading under the names, Renton & Renton; Countrywide Residential Letting I let a one bed cottage with them as agents
1)On one occasion they failed to re-negotiate a contract so I had a squatter that I had to get out myself as it was quicker and more effective than the course they suggested.
2) They fleece my present tenant at every opportunity with dreamt up conditions that need her to pay them extra cash or use exclusively their high cost in-house content insurance.
2) Recently the Management fee of 12% is only part of their costs so I'm leaving them. For example: They held back £190 as a "current reserve balance" (plus tax!). They regularly offer the routine legal/safety checks for an amount that in my investigation shows £40 or more has been added for administration,e.g. an EPC for £95 when I phoned and got the same man out to do it for £45. They tried to make me go with their in-house Landlord Insurance Policy when I easily got the same annual cover for £659.39 LESS.
