I kindly allowed Bairstowe Eves to show prospective new tenants around my flat before I left the property. During a showing, the agent said "All of our properties are deep-cleaned before a new tenant moves in, it's part of our service". As the flat was going to be cleaned anyway, I only performed a perfunctory clean.
Now my landlord has landed me with a bill of £240 for the cleaning.
If their agent had not said about this cleaning, I wouldn't be in the situation I'm in now: I would havbe cleaned the flat thoroughly.
Beware what Bairstowe Eves can create.
