We are selling and our buyer is selling through BE in Putney, London.
There are only 3 of us in the chain. Simple.
All the paperwork's been done and we have been waiting 6 weeks to exchange. The buyer at the bottom of the chain was according to BE 'on holiday' for a vast amount of time. Then he wasn't. Then he was. Then finally he'd 'got in contact' from his holiday destination to confirm he would be returning last week to exchange. BE even spun the yarn to the point of saying 'he's going in on Tuesday at 10am to sign the contract - he has an appointment with his solicitor'. None of this is true. His solicitors have not heard from him.
Who exactly do these estate agents think they are and what do they gain from lying about a purchaser? They will only benefit if the sale goes through and it's clearly not!
If only they had the courage to be honest and say, he's not interested or he's pulled out. But no, they string you along as if you're a puppet and they are the puppeteers. It's immoral and there really should be better management of these sly scoundrels. What exactly are the NAEA doing to ensure their code of ethics (clue's in the title) are upheld and individual's are held to task over unsavoury practises such as this?
