This was the second time in this carvery and the last. When you enter the restaurant you order your drinks at the cage bar and pay for your food. My wife had a small bottle of coke but was not offered the bottle as they are not allowed into the restaurant, why who knows, if there not allowed why have them there? She had to drink some of her drink at the bar and ask for the remainder to be poured into her glass. You get your table and queue for you food, when they remove the covers you then... (read more)

This place is great value for money and the food was really lovely, choice of Gammon, turkey, beef or chicken - with lots of lovely fresh vegetables and the Yorkshire puddings were giant! The food was wonderful and you can go back for more veg if you want. Unfortunately the service was very slow and the staff did not seem to know what they were doing. The only thing that would put me off going back to this place is the wine – the cost for a bottle is £12.95 (which is reasonable) BUT it... (read more)

You can't say I wasn't warned. A group of us booked our Christmas dinner at Nana Rose (Lodge Lane Grays) for £20, but a friend had already said that his friends had walked out before. I had a open mind though! The first thing that hit me on entering was a stench of cabbage water and I noticed that the restaurant was nearly empty. A girl nearly pulled the Christmas tree over and was generally misbehaving. I got there early so enjoyed a pint from the bar (it had bars to it)! The food was... (read more)

Far from being on crack, you may enjoy eating food that had been out for hours in a nearly empty restaurant. I do not. I just wish I had reported this cramped and smelly dive to the Environmental Health. I can quite understand why the place was nearly empty all evening in the busy run up to Christmas. Avoid like the plague. This nasty place couldn't even muster up any Christmas crackers or hats and the table 'decorations' were falling apart!
