“Arguably the WORST! ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by qsHoover65 on 25/08/2017

Temperamental and Unreliable! Outlook self-edits contact and address book listings nad then mixes them up! It also loses and confuses data and is not easy to use OR navigate! At all costs...AVOID!!!

Its the worst of the worst, its easy to hacked and then they won't let you close the account. The hacker gets a hole of everything and manages the email. Disscussting I give it a BIG CERO 00000000000000000000

“Focused and Other inboxes”

★★★★☆

written by on 27/05/2017

I have recently started to use Outlook email. I like that it is simple and straightforward but I absolutely HATE the new Focused/Other inbox. It's up to ME to choose which is important and which is not. Also I prefer everything together and in date order. If I want to keep important emails I create a relevant folder. Please remove this stupidity from my Outlook email.

“Good and reliable email - recommended”

★★★★★

written by Greenelectron on 18/01/2015

I have used Outlook.com email for about twelve months now and found no problems with it at all. The IMAP protocol (instead of POP3) took some getting used to but now I prefer it.

“Disappointed of Outlook”

★★★☆☆

written by on 16/09/2013

Outlook is doing something really bad such taking random pictures somehow from your computer or cellphone (not really sure how they are doing this) without your permission in each email you send to your contacts. Yes, there is a picture that users pick to be their contact photo, but that is not the picture other people receive, or it's added to the random picture Outlook pick. I was shocked when one of my online clients asked me if the woman in the picture in my message was me, and that I was very "sexy". I was terrified and asked my friends and family what picture of me they were receiving when I email them, and all them mentioned different pictures. These pictures are very private and are storage in one of of my folders in the computer. Also, another friend found out his unlisted telephone number and private cellphone number from Outlook, as a friend suggestion from Gmail. I haven't been able to fix this problem and can't find any answer from Outlook or Microsoft. I have to delete my account from 16 years because of this. Not fair, and pretty bad and bold from Outlook! I strongly do not recommend Outlook!

“horrible, frustrating, hate it.”

written by on 05/06/2013

I am very new to computers, and old. Hotmail was perfect for me. Easy to use. Was forced over to Outlook. The spell check just vanished. Now my contact list has vanished. The To: does not work. People does not bring up any contact information. I am too old to trust giving access to my computer to some guy in India so am told my contacts problem can not be corrected. I will have to get another e mail account. This does not make me happy.

“A good thing ruined!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by PeterRJ on 15/05/2013

I had a easy to get round reliable Hotmail account for 14 years that has been totally turned on it's arse! I NEVER used to get 'We cannot connect you at the moment, please try again later' before but now I get it nearly half the time. It's also nowhere as simple to use as before as it hides stuff. Am going to look for somewhere else to go as it's now just frustrating. Would like to give it no stars at all!

What was a straight forward and reliable e-mail service is now just a mess. Unable to rely upon being able to access my inbox for e-mails that are important (to me) Avoid like the plague.

“Other than your Marketing Dept...who wanted this garbage?”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Hil411 on 04/04/2013

It was a stinking, entry level e-mail service. Simple, easy to use and not for Rocket Scientists AND it served a purpose. What was once ONE click has become the Odyssey...and in ancient Greek. Outlook...better to have called it OUTHOUSE. NOT a fan!

written by on 01/04/2013

Why did you have to change everything. Now i can't attach photo's or docs to my emails - i have tried & tried & they just won't upload wnen there was never ever a problem with Hotmail. What is it with you people - when will you learn if it isnt broke don't mend it. So now i have to utilise my wifes email account to send doc's out. Bloody rediculous.

“My Outlook Review”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 22/08/2012

I liked outlook from the start. But after a while the layout started to get boring. If I first started outlook, and I did not know anything about it I would think that It was for old people learning how to use a computer. Overall its not terrible, but it doesn't have some of the features I am looking for. After about a month of Outlook I switched to Gmail which was a much better choice.

“Finally something from MS done well, but not for me...”

★★★☆☆

written by OnBayUK on 13/08/2012

The transition from Hotmail to Outlook takes about 3 clicks. It's all very simple. Are you sure? Do you want an outlook.com alias? How do you want us to handle your old emails? Deals with all the points i'd have wanted without the mess of doing it myself. I used the new Outlook for a week and overall it was an excellent upgrade from the Hotmail i'd been used to. My problem, however, was that in changing the way my old account was handled (make a new folder for it and let Outlook.com create a rule where any mail to my old address was put in that folder). That rule superceded all other rules and I ended up with spam after spam after spam. The old Hotmail had handled those mails brilliantly, but I was now left with my old inbox full of spam and my outlook.com inbox was relatively empty. I changed back to Hotmail after a quick search through the spam options to see if there was a way to fix the issue. Being honest, it's the only issue I actually had - but not being able to tell between who wants to actually talk to me and who wants to scam my bank account from under my nose became annoying rather quickly. That is the negative side of having a 15 year old hotmail.com email address. I would recommend all hotmail users try the outlook service and see what they think. The view is streamlined, very nice and clean, and will no doubt fit well within Windows 8. Microsoft have done well this time.

“Simple as the mailbox should be”

★★★★☆

written by renniemoon on 12/08/2012

I wasnt so familiar with what would happen after upgrading to outlook, so it took me some time observing if I should go with it. When I finally changed my hotmail to outlook, it surprised me. The interfaces simple, and easy to use. I actually expected nothing from Mailbox, but to send and receive mails. Outlook makes this straight and clear. By the way, I think new outlook looks a bit like Win 8, isn't it.

“Expected teething problems but neat, polished and works.”

★★★★☆

written by jeremykyleftw on 09/08/2012

It's a simple interface, but what else do you need for your email? It's not cluttered, it's structured well and looks good. It's easy to navigate and to compose and read new emails. Customisable too with different colour themes. Only thing I find personally irritating is that I use the up and down keys to read an email, to scroll, but this actually scrolls in your inbox, so you will be end up reading another email. Overall, I like the new service from Microsoft, it integrates well with the new Metro interface on Windows 8 and has a simplistic but fresh feel about it. Kudos to Microsoft and the team.

“Good but without IMAP biggest letdown”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 08/08/2012

The interface and all looks promising and attractive. it as great and was easy to use. But biggest let down was IMAP feature is not avail same as hotmail.com. Can use only in outlook 2k7 or web app. Not poss on free email clients like thunderbird. V disappointing. So a V BIG THUMBS DOWN.........
