Without a doubt, the worst company I have ever had to deal with. They never reply to any emails, they don't return calls after they promise to and they lie constantly. After waiting for 3 weeks, having been told that the product was on it's way and would be with me shortly, I cancelled my order. The website said that the phones were in stock, but that was wrong. Placed an order in February .... told it would be dispatched soon.. never was.. when contacted for a refund, emails and calls went unanswered. OK first I am a customer not an employee I purchased a Panasonic TZ60 a week last Wednesday in the evening on Thursday morning I realised the delivery time would mean no camera for my holiday so I called Tip Top and explained. Ordered a camera after a couple of phone calls to the company checking on delivery, warranty etc. All sounded very plausible and told item was in stock and I would 100% get in max 5-7 days......payment was either Bank Transfer or Paypal at 3.5%, luckily I choose the latter (despite the very high rate) and have now logged a dispute. “STAY AWAY! Dishonest fraudulent - Worst online...”

Bought Ultrabook laptop £1,200+. Had to prepay by direct transfer (first warning sign as no credit card facilities). Product arrived 3 weeks later (after numerous follow up calls) in damaged condition with missing components. No UK keyboard or connection. I would not give any stars to this company, but there is no option for that.. They will take your money, never send you the item, and then tell you a convoluted pack of lies to obtain a refund - which they will never fulfil. I have put my case to the small claims court. I bought my projector from them on 14/1/2014 and still not received a replacement or a refund. Every time I call they fob me off with yet another lie this company cannot be trusted and should be forced to cease from trading

The item was faulty and had to be returned. tip Top arranged for a courier to collect it in return for a replacement unit to be delivered at a later date. Several months, countless calls, emails (mostly unanswered) later I have still not received my replacement and been told that the company is not in a suitable situation to refund me due to the fact that their funds are not fluid due to their assets being frozen! But these guys saved me 350 quid for the same item on Amazon with a 1 year guarantee! so I can't complain. Coincidentally (not) I have just received a credit note from Tip Top Electronics for the full amount. Just four hours after writing this review... and a month to the day they originally agreed to issue said refund. A shame I had to waste even more of my time raising a dispute with my credit card company and writing this review before they finally got around to doing so.

“Avoid this company”

I recently paid for a camera for my daughters birthday and thought the 7-10 day delivery time would be ample. The camera failed to arrive and I am in a battle to get a refund. I've spoken to numerous people at the company on the phone and been told the directors are in India. Get in touch with Trading Standards too, they will be more than interested in your struggle (you won't be the only `purchaser` btw)
If you do happen to receive anything & it comes with a non-UK battery charger (2pin adapter type plug) report them for that also.

Shame that these so called companies manage to dupe so many potential purchasers with promises of imported grey goods.

Hope you manage to get your refund though.

We have refunded your payment in full.

If an item is out of stock we will simply refund the payment.This took a few more days to appear in your account.We are happy to offer you a discount in the future should you purchase an item from us again.

I think my comment was justified. Lack of communication throughout and I was never told that the camera was out of stock or when it was anticipated to be in stock. Although I did eventually get a refund it took a lot of calls to get this money back and was a stressful experience as I genuinely thought I had lost my money.
Breaking point for me was dealing with Patty who mocked me and basically told me that they couldn't be bothered to respond to my emails. He also informed me that the finance team didn't work Fridays and he wouldn't escalate my grievance despite broken promises of a refund.
This company really has to have a huge rethink on customer services as there is no point trying to be the cheapest on the market if you can't delivery. The lesson I've learnt is you get what you pay for and it turned out paying a bit more In store on the high street was worth the extra.

Initially worried by using a new company, there was positive feedback on dpreview and I took the plunge to save on a Sony NEX-6. Order confirmation and communications very good, took just under two weeks for delivery which was slightly later than advised but not a huge problem. Delivery day was a nightmare with the package being signed for with no-one home and no postcard left either. Sorted out that evening as being all the fault of Royal Mail. If you are honest, the majority of the reviews on dpreview, as on other photographic sites, are actually not that good, so not sure where your supposed `positive feedback` comes from?

Another point is, they are not a `new company` at all, they are drop-shippers of grey goods working under a few different names & seem to be run from India.
They pay for positive reviews & get negative ones removed.
The purchaser is the legal importer & liable to import duties & costs
Check out hotukdeals, moneysavingexpert, talk photography, hellopeter, their facebook page........

Thanks for your reply Reportedtotradingstandards (interesting name) and I'll respond in similar order:-

- I was being honest and to be even more honest, I'm just jumping into photography now so I was taking the dpreview feedback at face value as I did with the camera forum comments on there. I did compare a couple of other websites as well, including MSE before proceeding. The dpreview comments were negative to start with anyway, before changing in more recent posts. So that's where 'my' positive feedback comes from, 'unsupposedly'...

After posting the above review I had another link from TipTop to comment on, which was the Talkphotography thread on TipTop. I read that from start to finish with a mixture of amusement, consternation and growing interest. It included the IP tracing, the 'Drew' guy and registrations with other Australian companies as well as some Indian contact going on. The Ts and Cs were highlighted etc. and the 'fact' reviews seem to be removed if negative, and so on. A lot of accusations were thrown however, not always backed up. So my camera came from Japan, has a UK warranty and a 3 pin adapter! At the time of writing I haven't been stung for import duties etc.

I saw the facebook page and there were a fair few charges which Ben didn't clarify or respond to. So I'm sure there's some valid concerns, but this is my experience and I haven't been paid to share it.

The only reason I comment is to at least give potential purchasers both sides of the tiptop story & encourage a little research before deciding.

Too many people blindly go along with so-called `positive reviews` only to later regret their decision because they weren't aware of possible issues with certain sellers.

I posted a link in my previous post to dpreview, where I'm registered and post, but it wasn't allowed by the mods on here apparently. It was that thread I was referring to previously.


The now defunct Procamerashop were a fairly recent case in point re not being open & honest about their business practices etc etc (hence my username btw)


Glad you are satisfied with your purchase though & hope you have no problems. Enjoy shooting.

Fully agree with your comment and to be fairly I could have checked more as well because with hindsight if I'd seen the stories I may have thought again! I think the company are mainly ok and perhaps just a little disorganised, potential warranty and import issues notwithstanding.
Good username choice and I'm still reading the 200 page manual. 2 weeks until my trip, have to get a move on... Cheers.

A couple of things.
They aren't actually a new `company` at all. They have a few trading names & have so-called`offices` in Aus, NZ, SA, India.....
Their reputation isn't great tbh, if you search the 'net.
They only source goods & it is the purchaser who is legally the importer & liable to any VAT/import taxes due to HMRC.

Supplying goods without a UK 3-pin plug is potentially dangerous, but more so, is actually not legal. (Trading Standards encourage info on anything like this)

Registering Canon products online is easy, you can actually type in random numbers & they seem to be accepted, BUT if/when you try to make a warranty claim it will be dismissed. You NEED to register by phone with the receipt.

thanks...I checked with Canon UK and they do not accept product registrations by phone now, only online, although they confirmed my USA model G16 is not covered by a Canon UK warranty, of which I was aware yesterday...ah well...thanks anyway.
