I would say this device is a waste of money. Buy a cheaper one that may not be as frilly if you child is really interested in listening to music they will be much more happier with one that works when they want it to.

Great for younger kids, very easy to use my 8yr old link it to the computer and goes onto barbie online (parental controlled)
to play games etc.

Not recommended. Volume cannot be made high - so young kids can't damage their ears.
Looks pretty. Music quality is pathetic in my experience - At the price charged it should be very good.
Poor build Quality - First one I got had bad headphone connection socket on receipt and had to be replaced much to me four year old granddaughter's disappointment.

I think the Mattel Barvie MP3 player is really cool, I like it but i think thats its far too expensive and should be made cheaper so more people like me can afford it.
