Am in a real pickle.
Moved into my flat on the 26th November.Utlity warehouse were the existing supplier at the time, they never wrote to me about deposits that had to be paid in order to secure a competitive rate. The first I heard from them was a bill at the end of January for a huge sum of money all based on estimated rates. Gave them the true readings but they won't send a new bill, insist that I have to pay the estimated amounts have blocked my attempt to transfer to Atlantic and have now received letters from bailiffs, all of which until last week were sent to 'the occupier' rather than me and have been addressed incorrectly.
Do they have the right to demand deposits?
I don't know what to do, can anyone tell me where I can get some good advice, a helpline?

Go to Citizen Advice or check their website and speak to someone. If they can help they will.
OFGEM and Consumer Direct could also have some good advice for you so check their websites.
Ombudsman Services: Energy may also help since it appears you have been in dispute for over 8 weeks with UW.
Good luck and I hope you can get it resolved.
