My son has just taken over tenancy of a small shop which was supplied by OPUS who had 'de energised' it due to previous tenants debt. They wanted 1500 for a security deposit and 480 reconnection fee !! After literally a week of phone calls we ended up ringing Citizens Advise consumer helpline who rang them and managed to get it down to 500 security deposit and 100 reconnection fee ( still a rip off and totally unjustified given that the supply will be switched to a different company Asap! ). Never have I spoken to such rude, aggressive and totally disinterested people ( bar one but I can't mention names). My advice DO NOT enter into a contract with them and if they are quoting ridiculous charges fight it with them ( or get advice and help like we did). Funny how they change their tune when you involve a third party. Just be prepared to stand your ground. Totally see why they have one star for customer service !!
