“Totally Incompetent”

Took over an empty building at the end of February 2020 and gave the meter readings to Dual-Energy, no power has been used as the building has remained empty pending a new tenant at some point to go in. Despite having to send in emails on a regular basis with photos of the meters, having made numerous calls to Dual-Energy they just ignored the meter readings that I sent and made up their own with ridiculous bills being sent out. It should be simple, meter reading at the beginning is the same as August 2020 therefore no electricity used and only charge should be for the standing charge. I am still waiting for a final account as I have now switched to British Gas. It seems that no one is in charge or cares. DO NOT USE THEM. My only course of action now is to go to the regulator.

“Appalling customer service”

I contracted to Dual Energy in November to supply electricity to a public house and hotel. Although their bills show three readings (Day, Evenings, Night), the meter does not show the third reading. Consequently, none of my meter readings have been accepted, even for the two readings that I can obtain. Therefore all of the bills are based on invented readings, all of which are much higher than the real readings. Despite repeatedly asking, no-one from Dual Energy has either advised me on how to obtain the third reading myself, or arranged for a meter reader to visit the property. I have now been a customer of Dual Energy for 6 months, during which time no effort has been made to solve this problem, nor I have I received a single bill based on correct readings. This matter has now passed beyond poor customer service and into the realm of straightforward negligence. I therefore intend to make a complaint to Ofgem.

BEWARE ! EXTORTION ! GANGSTERS ! BULLIES BEWARE ! TOTALY AVOID THIS COMPANY !!!!! CUSTOMER SERVICE RELATIONS IS ZERO. THEY HAVE TRIED TO EXTORT £8900 FROM ME AFTER SWITCHING SUPPLY OFF ! I HAD NO BILL FROM THEM ALTHOUGH REQUESTING ONE 10+ TIMES ! INSTEAD THEY JUST GAINED ENTRY TO MY COMMERCIAL PREMISES WHEN I WASNT THERE AND CUT OFF SUPPLY THEN VERBALLY INSISTED I PAY A PLUCKED FROM MID-AIR FIGURE OF £8900 OR SUPPLY WOULD NOT BE RE-INSTATED. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING OUTFIT FOR PROVIDING A SERVICE TO THE PUBLIC.

“Not a very good company to deal with”

Very dishonest company. They keep on increasing my direct debit. They increase my rates in February. And it's gone up so much I did not realise it until my first few invoices. Do not sign up to this company... I have been in business for the last 30 years never experienced a dishonest company like this.

Dual Energy's broker did a contract with me for fixed monthly price. We agreed. He took my bank details. But when I received my 1st bank statement I was shocked I was charged more than twice the amount I agreed to pay. I took up complaint with them and they started charging me the agreed contract price. But within months they again started to take out 3/4 times more than what they had agreed to charge me. I had provided them our annual consumption given to us by our previous provider. I took up complaint again but nothing came out of it other than they were charging me in accordance with my consumption. Our consumption had gone down rather than going up. I have to go to County Court to get me refund now for the extra money they charged me.

“Dishonourable company - increased rates on a FIXED...”

I see a few other reviewers who have had the same problem with Dual. We are a charity which signed up for a 12m fixed rate. As part of sign up, I estimated our usage, though I was guessing as this was a new premises. There was no mention that the deal was dependent on a certain minimum volume. Part way through the contract, they informed me that we are being moved to a much more expensive low-usage tariff, as we are using less than I said. They assure me that the rate is still competitive, which is a barefaced lie. I looked around and every other company is far cheaper (despite our low volumes of usage). I phoned to query the legal basis for them to do this and they referred to T&Cs that they introduced several months after our contract started. I pointed out that the contract I agreed with them had no wording about minimum volumes. They confidently asserted that it is the current terms that are relevant. I told them that, legally, they are wrong. They continued to raise other false arguments. Although I am confident that I could have enforced the 12 month fixed rate, I decided that I don't want to do business with such a dishonourable company, so it wasn't worth the effort of arguing any further. As they were offering penalty-free exit from the contract that they were refusing to honour, I took it. I got a cheaper rate, as well. You should be ashamed of yourselves, Dual Energy!

Update: Their behaviour upon closing the account has also been poor. They repeatedly told my new supplier that they would not transfer the account, as we were on a fixed contract, even though it was they who broke the contract and offered to terminate early.

After the transfer, I knew we were in credit, so I was waiting for the final bill and refund. As I heard nothing for 5 weeks, I phoned and found that final account statement had, they said, been sent a few weeks ago, but mysteriously it did not reach me, even though all the others arrived just fine. They did then offer to make a request to refund the credit balance, but it would seem that if I had forgotten they would happily have kept the charity's money.

“Devious and untrustworthy”

They wanted to change my meter to smart meter, I gave them an appointment early in the morning however 3 days before the appointment i rang their customer service to cancel it due to unforeseen circumstances. The meter change was rescheduled for another day but this time they failed to keep the appointment.I got the bill and noticed they charged me £125 for the failed appointments. I have filled a complaint but they have not responded

“Daylight Robbery with YOUR money”

Do not sign up to this company. Even when you are in credit, they wanted me to pay ANOTHER £200 PER MONTH. 60% over my useage. They say to build up even more credit than i have because £175 is not enough. We are a small business on a tight margin and every penny counts. I will give them three months then i will have to decide to pull the plug and then they will get nothing. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. I REPEAT, DO NOT SIGN WITH THIS COMPANY OR YOU WILL REGRET IT LIKE ME. I think that 10 - 15% would be acceptable but NOT 60% PLUS.

I have just been done myself. Even though i had a positive balance and paying nearly £60 above my average, they still wanted another £200 per month. Reason stated was that my POSITIVE BALANCE was not big enough. They wanted more and said that i wouldn`t afford to pay my bills. Would not recommend these people at all. Go somewhere that helps you to pay the correct amount.
NOT ADVISED TO GO INTO A CONTRACT WITH THIS LOT.

I work for a charity and got a good deal on a years contract. After 6 months they increased the prices by a substantial amount. When I rang them they said it was because we did not use a lot of electric and they had changed us to a low usage tariff without consulting us. When I challenged them they came back with 'well it's in the small print that we can do this'. They only good thing is that I can now get out of the contract and go with someone reliable and trustworthy, if there is such a company!!

“Disgusting Company”

From a Corner Shop that used £150.00 a month Electricity. They were Hammering Me about £400.00 a Month,there customer Service is horrible. I asked there Manager for Help, he said: "I cant help you unless you give us £400 now" Then hammered me for another few months. They caused stress, anger & Tears. I would rate 0 if it was possible.

DO NOT SIGN UP WITH DUAL ENERGY! FIRSTLY THEY PUT YOU ON A PAYMENT PLAN THAT IS WAY ABOVE YOUR USEAGE, WHICH MESSES BOOK-KEEPING. THEY EMAIL YOUR INVOICES (WHICH IS FINE) BUT I HAD ONE THAT WAS MISSING...IE NOT IN MY INBOX. I PHONED 'CUSTOMER SERVICES' (WHO ARE ABRUPT AND RUDE) AND WAS TOLD IT HAD BEEN SENT ACCORDING TO THEIR SYSTEM... AND THEY WOULD CHARGE A FEE TO RE-EMAIL!!!!... RIDICULOUS. IF YOU WANT IT POSTED IT'S £5.

After reading these reviews I feel concerned of what is to come. I recently joined this shower and my complaint seems a bit trivial compared to the others but is still annoying nethertheless. They have me on a payment plan and will not let me change the way I pay, consequently it is messing up my accounts system. They take a set payment in advance and send me the invoice several weeks later, the payment and the invoice amounts don't match so I have to wait several weeks before I can enter details into my accounts system. When I get the chance, I'm gone.Please think twice and use another supplier.

Absolutely and most possibly the worst energy supply company ever! avoid Duel energy over charged me and then simply cut of my supply on a busy Friday afternoon over a mistake with THERE billing system. the call center staff are rude and will not listen or reason with you how.. wish i had read these reviews before i signed up with them .. nothing but a rip off.

YBiggest most extortionate energy company they are nothing but a big ripp off holding you ransome to pay them more money or will switch off power again and when you have frozen stock you cannot afford to have your power cut off without a moments notice

Are you joking amcvities. They took 370.00 extra from me and continued to take an inflated dd without notice to increase in the first place or reason why. Got a £270 refund So i cancelled DD as in so much credit they charged me 30.00 for cancelling DD then sent me a letter saying i was in arrears and as result they had added a 39.99 charge to account. I phoned and was told i was in credit actually but maybe the systems had not been updated they also threatened to cut me off within 7 days. Absolutley rotten company. I am going to the ombudsman about them!! Not getting away with this

“Up rates mid contract +68% - Switched but NO refund!”

Quite possibly the worst company we have dealt with ever. By the looks of the reviews below, we are not the only company to have encountered a mid contract consumption review and then been moved onto a new price which is +68%. Theyve done it to several of our sites, trading under different names, so It does seem to be a ploy to entice you in with a low headline rate, and then slap you with a mid contract price hike. Understandably we switched away, but they STILL use the wrong closing read and wont refund a credit balance citing some internal paperwork (D86???) as the reason. Inevitably there are no responses from emails and lacklustre support from staff who really couldn't give a .... I get the distinct impression its being run from a beach hut on Worthing promenade. I know where Id like to place a stick of rock. Please STEER clear - British Gas look competent compared to these blaggers.

“Worst Company Ever”

We paid this company on Friday the amount that they requested by letter. They cut off our supply on Monday as the amount they had asked for was wrong?!? They claim to have emiLed my wife on Monday morning threatening to cut the supply and as they had no response within 2 hours they cut off the supply. Despite it being their mistake they would not reinstate the supply without a reconnection fee being paid. Their staff are rude and obviously trained to extort money at all costs! DO NOT USE COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!!

worst supply company i have ever dealt with, told them i use approx £50 a month in electric, they said that was fine, took in excess of £200 from bank via direct debit 3 months on the trot, despite several complaints,cancelled direct debit, wiated 4 weeks for excess payment to be refunded,total amount of electric used came to £112.63 pence in 3 months, they STOLE £633.. refund of £500 was late(and still left me in credit for £22,told them to shove contract and bailed out,now they have the cheek to say i owe them £23.. sharks..DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY !! NO STARS WOULD BE MORE APPROPRIATE !
