“Could be so much better”

Been a customer for two years having moved over from Atlantic following a visit to a comparison site Pros Clear bills, online management of account, transactions completely available (see below) and competitive (although not the cheapest) Cons Customer service woeful. I intended to switch to Co-op energy but wanted to clarify the tariff (it's not on their website). After a long wait on the phone I was put through to an 'overflow advisor'. She couldn't help with my query she said but would get someone to phone me back - this didn't happen. Two days later I rang again. “Poor customer service ”

I've been with coop energy for 12 months with no problems. I then recieved an email advising me to change to a fixed plan available to 25th April. I called customer service waited ages to get through when I eventually got through the guy said they sent email by mistake... After a lot of discussion and obtaining meter readings he swapped me over. This was never done cs said no record of me ever calling and no I couldn't speak to a manager... “Dire customer service. Awful company.”

Where do I begin with this company? I am an Economy 7, electricity-only customer. I would supply them with a monthly meter reading, and would log in the following day to find that their computer had twisted them around. I complained to them numerous times over many months, but their customer services never solved the problem, and even cut off my call on more than one occasion. 'The computer' was always to blame. “Customer service ”

I selected this Energy company for my gas and electricity because it had a good score on Which? website. In general, we did not have a problem with solving our queries via the phone whilst we were customers. We recently moved to Spain and cancelled our account with Coop. Whilst we lived in the UK we called Coop and requested to email us the final bills as there are new tenants in the flat and we live in another country.
