“I love it!”

I like how this cleans my teeth and it goes to places that ordinary toothbrush cannot reach. And just with the right amount of force which is not so hard on my gums.

★★★★☆

written by AaceBradley on 18/06/2021

Good quality product. However, i don't like such type of electric toothbrushes but this product has changed my mind. Very easy to use. Makes the teeth super clean without any efforts taken. Price is reasonable. Great invention. Overall, happy with my purchase.

“It took me a couple of days to get used to the vibration,”

★★★★☆

written by ThomasWilliam67 on 10/02/2021

It took me a couple of days to get used to the vibration, but the feeling of super clean teeth was instant. I charge it about once every 3 weeks because it holds the charge so long. I am so glad I gave this thing a chance. I am never going back to a manual toothbrush again.

“The best of the best electric toothbrushes!”

★★★★★

written by 1Rosanna9 on 08/04/2019

I have been very happily using Sonicare electric toothbrushes for over 20 years; they are excellent toothbrushes. I recently purchased a Sonicare DiamondClean Smart Sonic 9300 -- and it's the best toothbrush I've ever used. The toothbrush has 3 operating settings, which I prefer to use simultaneously. The brushes that came with it are amazing -- my teeth are even cleaner than with my past brushes, and my gums feel refreshed as well. If you like using apps, you'll be pleased to find one comes with this brush. I don't use the app. I enjoy brushing my teeth with this brush and am delighted with this purchase. I highly recommend Sonicare brushes and the 9300 in particular.

“ Works well but is not durable!”

★★★★☆

written by Vervous on 08/02/2018

It works well. But I know 3 other people using this product and they never last longer than about 18 months. That's 4 toothbrushes with the same route cause - the base lets in water and then it fails. Several modes of failure e.g. it gets too weak to use or it switches itself on at random (drives the neighbour below crazy when it falls on the floor and buzzes for hours in the night;-)) or the button stops working. I've bought a new one but it's my last one I swear. This time I've rubbed Vaseline into the base to try for a better seal and I leave it lying on its side instead of standing on the base to try to keep water out of the base. Don't buy this product until the durability on the seal at the base improves! It's not rocket science to improve a rubber o-ring!

“Short life”

★★★☆☆

written by TubbsB on 23/12/2015

The toothbrush itself is not bad and looks good, even if I needed some time to get used to it. But for the price they sell it - even with the discount - one expects at least that it has a longer "life". Mine was broken in a bit more than a year, and I can´t say I was using it too much because I was alternating it with another brush I had. By that time I couldn´t find the receipt anymore and unfortunately had to throw the whole thing away. I understand it was my fault to loose the receipt, but I think they could also somehow save the information about their current clients online...

“Good product, utterly lousy support”

★★☆☆☆

written by IanLHarris on 19/04/2015

We have been Sonicare users for more years than I can remember - certainly since before Philips took over the company. A couple of years ago we graduated to the HX6730. For the first time in our Sonicare lives, we had a fault with one of our devices - the charger failed, over the Easter 2015 weekend. That was the start of several hours of utter frustration and eventually anger. Initially the Philips support website was not working properly - except it only told us so after we filled all our details in on the form. Second time around, the system worked, but three days later we received a blunt e-mail from the Netherlands informing us that we had sent our details to the Netherlands and should have sent them to the UK. Nothing on the ".com" website tells you to go to a .co.uk website if you are in the UK, the .com site is fully in English and accepted our UK address without trying to re-route us. Even then, one might expect a global company to be able to forward the electronic details for us, but no. I e-mailed the Netherlands requesting that they forward the details to their UK colleagues, not least because I was away from the apartment for a few days and could not retrieve the serial numbers etc. again for several days. I received a daft phone call from the Netherlands sweetly informing me that it was absolutely impossible for them to acquiesce to my request. The Dutch lady went on to infuriate me by claiming that the data protection act prohibited her from helping me in this way. When I explained that the Data Protection Act is there to protect my personal data, not to shield her from doing a little bit of work with my data at my request, she merely repeated that my request was impossible. Several days later, I attempted to retype all my information for a third time at the .co.uk site and of course the system failed right at the end of the process again. After typing it all in again for a fourth time, this time through the "real time assistant" i.e. real person, I was informed by him that I was out of warranty by a few weeks. Given the lousy experience/service I had received, I asked him to escalate the matter to his managers as I am minded now to complain bitterly about Philips lousy service. He politely refused, stating that it is impossible to use discretion. He "helpfully" recommended their chosen on-line supplier of parts. In an ultimate irony, that supplier didn't even have the relevant charger in stock, although I did manage to find a suitable supplier myself through the Amazon site. We have two of these devices (two homes) and so many heads we really are locked in to this Sonicare model for a while, but we'll use up our stock and go elsewhere next time. In the good old days, Philips was a great company with great service - they helped me to keep my Philips reel-to-reel tape recorder going long after the warranties had expired and the product was no longer sold. Longevity was their watchword. Now they seem to be among the worst of the worst in terms of service. I shall be sending my complaint through their management and copying it to the Consumer Association.

“Don't trust a company like this !!!!! WORST !!!!!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Intheloupe on 05/06/2014

Have a 250.00 toothbrush that hasn't lasted a year ! Registered it when purchased thought it was covered for two years called and was informed the store I purchased was not a registered seller ( how was I to know that thought a known chain store not a vender in ny would be a registered seller) my registration was on record though proving I owned the toothbrush for 9 month. I asked if I could just pay for the repair ... Ahh no they only replace broken toothbrushes with the correct warranty (WTH) ?? " so I am suppose to throw out my 250 dollar toothbrush that hasn't even lasted a year!!" Customer service agent said " no we recommend recycling ! " would be LMBO if I was crying ;(

“Reason I give it a terrible review is because it quit...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by bipa on 02/10/2013

Reason I give it a terrible review is because it quit working after approx. 6 months of less. I did not keep receipt as for the price of this toothbrush, I figured it would last at least a year. Had to go purchase a different brand!!!

“definitely not worth it!”

My 1st one died within 2 years and I lost the receipt, so I decided to buy a second one in order to exchange the 1st one with the new receipt (guess what? 2nd one died too a year later). I called them and everything went fine and I've been told I will get a new one in 3 weeks. However, I've waited for 2 months and I finally decided to call them back and guess what? They said they haven't got ONE tooth brush in stock ever since that 2 months...

“Unenjoyable to use and short battery life”

★★★☆☆

written by celestial on 14/05/2013

It is expensive, even with half-price discounts that abound but is pleasant-looking and features a unique cleaning method. Not sonic at all, it uses a forceful eddy of water which pushes up against the teeth and gums. The device took a month or so to get used to as it is quite speedy and gives a tickling effect to begin with. I had to keep stopping and starting for many weeks until I got used to it. Recharging is quite quick and power lasts for about a fortnight. The heads collect debris which dries up around the base and takes time to clean off when you get round to it. This was unsightly and, in my view, unhygienic. In less than 24 months the built-in rechargeable battery packed up and I threw the entire unit away. I never liked it and have now switched to an Oral B.

“Barely 2 years”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 28/04/2013

Had my Sonicare HX6972/10 for 2 years and 1 month so now out of warranty. It recently started switching itself on (sometimes in the dead of night) which was a little unnerving. I then noticed that you could not select all the programmes on it. I put the brush on to charge and noticed the charging lights had condensation inside. Clearly a seal has gone allowing moisture ingress. Surprising when it has never been dropped etc and always wiped clean/dry after use. For a product that has an RRP of almost £200, this is dreadful. The brush did a great job cleaning but it just doesn't last long enough to make it worthwhile. Leave well alone and buy a different brand or something.

“Dead Phiips sonicare”

★★★☆☆

written by Darrenba on 22/04/2013

I am glad that others described their Philips issue. I bought the Philips Sonicare (HX6972/10 FlexCare+ Rechargeable Toothbrush with UV Sanitiser) as it looked so good. In less than a year the battery barely held its charge. Philips happily replaced the unit. Again, less than a year, that replacement has packed up. My partner has an (ugly) Oral B, but it keeps charged a long time and has not failed. I am switching to that brand now. Bad Philips!!!!

“You are paying a rent actually...”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 18/03/2013

I have the Philips FlexCare toothbrush. It worked great for 18 months and now it is dying on me. I am positively sure that the breakdown is programmed in the micro controller. Of course I am not sure, but after reading all the comments (that I should have read before buying...) and after my experience and after talking to a friend who had the same problem I am pretty convinced. So you are not really buying it but paying a rent for the use of 18 months. By the way a pretty high rent...
