Purchased just over 2 years ago, within the first year the hob went off and the engineer took ages to get a part from the manufacturer. After just over 2 years and without further warranty hob has failed again. De Deitrich unsympathetic and wanted to charge £178 for repair and further year warranty. They would not move on this so I refuse to give them more money for a substandard product. I live alone and use this approx 3-4 times a week, no more than that. Add that up over 2 years and I'd say that's a product unfit for purpose. I managed to buy a Beko from Asda Direct for £177 with a 2 year warranty.

We have had exactly the same experience. After a year 2 of the rings stopped working. The hob was replaced and now, 2 years later, the same thing has happened. When I reported the fault to De Dietrich I said, 'There are 4 rings...' and the guy on the other end of the phone finished my sentence for me '... and 2 of them aren't working.' so it's obviously a really common fault. We're not going to pay £177 for this only to happen again. Induction hobs are great but De Dietrich induction hobs are rubbish. Don't buy.

I agree. We have had ours for 7 years but it keeps turning itself off or jumping to !5 when I have put it on simmer. It doesn't turn off if I forget a pan, it just goes on heating until everything is black. It was in the house when we bought it, I wouldn't buy again.
