“Poor Quality Product for over £2000”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Leach163 on 17/05/2023

Works fine but first the decals on the control knobs lifted because they are poor quality plastic and are not fit for purpose when you take things out of a hot oven. Now the paint is bubbling with rust underneath the paint and it's been installed under 3 years. Contacted AO who pushed us to a representative who refuse to acknowledge the problem. Absolutely shocking for a £2000+ cooker. Would never buy from again.

“factory problem I still had to pay to have repaired”

★★★☆☆

written by doodsville on 28/02/2015

We have had a Stoves Richmond cooker for some 3 years. and had some initial problems ( see my earlier review). We have had problems using the oven control on the front until last week it would not move at all. Called customer service for an engineer and was told they needed £99.00 up front before he would come. Paid this and the engineer called yesterday. He identified that the control had been installed wrongly and there was a faulty part. We had had problems from the beginning but thought it was stiff because of the design. After using some of my materials he sorted it. Will we get a refund because of faulty manufacture. There is not even an email address for them. Further to my earlier review I have replaced the oven bulb with one I bought from a local electrical suppler for £1.65 not £99 as they would charge.

“Stoves Richmond 1000ie Electric Induction Cooker”

★☆☆☆☆

written by DanMR on 11/12/2014

This 100cm electric induction range cooker looks the part, but sadly doesn't full-fill that expectation. At around £2000, though, it probably should! We have had the cooker 18 months now and in that time I have had a succession of engineers out to fix and replace the induction hob which keeps malfunctioning. Because the 12 months is up, we are ow paying for this pleasure. In a nutshell, the touch controls on the glass hob stop working. I phone up, and engineer is booked. A courier delivers the replacememnt hob unit; it is almost always broken upon delivery. This is because it is not packaged at all, just placed in a thin box with no padding whatsoever. So we then go through the process of trying to get hold of another. When we have taken delivery of a replacement hob that is not too damaged, the engineer comes and fixes it. This has happened twice in the the last 18 months. Except that the engineers Stoves use aren't too familiar with replacement of induction hobs, so they get themselves into a fix. I'm expecting the fourth back next week after the latest guy repaced the hob then managed to smash the glass. The glass protruded down onto the new hob, so both need replacing. He also damaged the kitchen floor, so we are looking into that. Because two totally unrelated induction hobs have malfunctioned in exactly the same way, I can only conclude there is a design fault. I won't be surprised when it goes wrong again and in the same way. Stoves play failr hard to get, pretending no one else has complained and adamant that we pay for the engineer, but it is my contention that the hob and its electronics are not baffled well-enough form the heat of the cooker below, subsequently malfunctioning. After over a month, we are still cooking on a camping gas stove in the kitchen - not good with 3 kids under 5 years-old. Thanks, Stoves, you've been really great.

“Over expensive”

★★☆☆☆

written by zfHunt48 on 05/12/2014

Scrapped our Old New. world range , for a Stoves Richmond,1,000 GT, bought from curry's though Not on show . So we bought Blind ( stupidly ) What a mistake ! ! £1,500 ..not enough shelves. 1 Short at least,. you do not get a HANDLE with the Grill Pan, though all they print is Safety, Safety. Safety. The Grill Pan doesn't even fit along the Grill / Oven Runners to lower or raise the pan if you want to, The Rings DO NOT Simmer, like my new world.. The ring tops are Flimsy, have No mounting lugs, and fall off if you wipe down the cooker tray. The Oven temperature on 1 oven is over hot. You cannot see the clock/ Timer , as the towel rail blocks your view.. Oh Yes. ( the wire tray on the grill pan , one wire support broke off from its weld. After 14 uses ! And we're very care full , our New world was 18 years old & In prime condition. oh, and the wok griddle is curved , and NOT Double sided, with a curved side and a Flat side for Say Pancakes Ect.. Moving house, soon so we'll leave the Stoves Junk, and never ever buy another.- Beware. We made an expensive mistake.

“poor build quality”

★★★★☆

written by doodsville on 13/05/2013

We bought a stoves richmond cooker in Feb 2012. Within the guarantee period we had the engineer out because of a problem with the fan in the oven. At the start the light in the oven did not work so I called immediately and was told that this was not covered under any guarantee. I took the back off the oven and found the bulb was loose. Pushed it in and it worked. However I now have to do this every few weeks. I have to buy a complete fitting to replace this but cannot find out how to replace the complete fitting. I have e-mailed Stoves and am still waiting for a response on how to correct the fault.
