  Went for Egg home insurance because they were the most competitive when I was looking for a new insurance provider. Their price was very good for everything that is included. Have had to make a claim, as my cistern broke and poured water through the kitchen ceiling. They paid out very quickly and paid by cheque so could pay it straight into our joint account.   I have recently received very poor customer service from them. They are inconsistent with their charges, and when I objected to this, the member of staff was very unhelpful. I then spoke to the customer relations department who defended their staff member and dismissed my complaint. I will not be renewing my car insurance with Egg.   I changed my car and Egg car insurance required me to fit a tracker. Fair enough. I ordered a tracker and told them it could not be fitted for two days after I had taken delivery of the car. Egg refused to cover for loss due to theft for those two days, even though I had a receipt for purchase and fitting of the tracker.   Egge Home Insurance: As per any other kind of insurance, it's only as good as the claims process, and I can only hope that it's better should I ever get burgled or any other kind of claim!
