I signed up to Tutora to find a Maths Tutora for my son. When you sign up you have to put in your credit card details and they debit your card after each lesson. I was contacted by a prospective tutor, who kept rescheduling to the point that after a month, we had never even met him! As we had rescheduled the first two, I let two payments go off (£60) as I believed, ignorantly that the tutor would make up the time. When it became apparent that this was not going to happen, I cancelled the tutor and payments, but Tutora would not refund me. I am still waiting, a week later and 3 messages for the founder, to call me back. I have disputed the payments with my bank but as it is set up as a recurring payment, it's complicated. I sent several emails to Tutora asking them to do the right thing. At the end of the day, I paid in good faith and received nothing but abuse (from the tutor) in return. Yet, they have ignored me. Really, all I need is a reliable Maths tutor for my son and through all of this, have ended up wasting valuable time! I would really hate for this to happen to another unsuspecting parent. Take my word for it and stay away from Tutora!
