I really liked this method of obtaining my qualification. I had a few problems with my use of computer knowledge I was helped out with this I couldnot read the text relating to thee exam I was able to continue at the library with my exam questions. I think it is an ideal way to take the qulification. On the 11th January I will be able to make produce to sell at the Country Kitchens. Easy to follow and understand. Easy to memorise crucial information with the use of visual aids instead of having to drudge through pages of information. Each section tests your knowledge at the end giving you confidence to continue to the next stage. Set out in an enjoyable way to learn. Learn at your own pace. I liked the fact that I could do the course in my own time without having to commit to a day either off work or at the weekend when I'm busy with family. I could stop and start as necessay but would have liked to have been able to complete the assessemnt on an ongoing basis after each module. Having said that the assessemnt was straight forward adn didn't contain and 'trick' questions. I have never done anything like this before but really enjoyed it. I could do this course in my own time, at my own pace. Every aspect was well explained. The only thing is I thought there was quite a bit of repetition however when I discussed this with my husband (who is much brainier)than me he said that is how things are taught and if you remember it the job is done. Very convenient way of getting the qualification. Was able to sit at home and complete it at a time suitable for me rather than have to attend a course away from home. Each section was clear and easy to understand. The sections were in nice sized chunks so you could work at your own pace and was able to go over something again if you were unsure about something the first time round. I was given two hours to complete a course to be able to go into a stadium to do my new temp job. This course claimed to be able to be done in two hours and this is so far from the truth its stupid. I was sent home as was ment to start and had not even done half of the course. No one should be allowed to sell something that is not achevible. I contacted them and still got no justice so all I can say is do not do this course if you only have two hours to do it. (read more)

I was very impressed with this online course, I found it to be well written and informative as well as being easy to follow. I had a slight problem whilst doing the course so I called the help desk and was greeted by a very friendly advisor who sorted out my problem in seconds. This was an excellent first experience of on-line training for me and I very much liked the repetition of information from different perspectives as this helped to embed the ideas and place them within the big picture of food hygiene. I had both issues trying to find the right course as the support told me I needed the wrong one. I did the course but it was a little slow and not the best learning method. It does get your the certificate you need but is not the most enjoyable experience. I think they should look at how to make learning a little more enjoyable as a group in a room may be a long day but the trainers and other learners make it a much more enjoyable experience. There are no real negatives about this distance learning course. It was very easy to follow through each section with sample questions at the end of each part. The narrative does repeat what's already written in the text for the introduction to the section and if you can live with that then the course can only be described as well worth doing. The information was easy to read, it was explained well and the pictures helped to make it more interesting. It was quick too.
