Just what we needed!

I wanted my daughter to take some responsibility for working towards a grammar school place. Whilst she is very bright, she doesn't always apply herself and I didn't want to be the one that was always nagging her to do some test questions. I also didn't want to hire a tutor for her. We agreed that the run-up to the grammar school exam would be low-key and as stress-free as possible.

KSOL was great because it was a small amount of regular daily practise during the week and my daughter's level of engagement was her choice. I just made the technology available to her. She liked the ownership and she also liked the short but regular tests. I liked that the answers were clearly explained after the test so that we could work through them together if she got any wrong and couldn't understand them.

Over the summer holidays we added some longer written tests into the programme and a couple of mock exams (low-key, local ones in a church hall). Out of all her friends that took the test, I think my daughter was one of the least stressed on the day because she had taken ownership and was happy with her efforts.

She passed to go to a very good local grammar school and we are all delighted. I think KSOL played a significant part in her achievement.
