I took a gamble and tried the Industrial Scripts services, and I have to confess, you are simply the best in the business. The quality of feedback you sent back to me wasn’t only ‘highly’ constructive, it was extremely detailed and encouraging. You certainly know how to encourage a writer. I will read your notes over and over again before doing a rewrite to improve the story’s core idea, narrative and structure. Thank you to the Industrial Scripts Team. I shall be back with the... The quality of feedback from Industrial Scripts is second to none. To date I have received two sets of feedback on a feature script and on both occasions the notes were incredibly insightful and useful. Having a 'fresh pair of eyes' on the script was exactly what was needed to enable me and my writing partner to move on to the next draft and make the necessary improvements. I have just booked another report on the latest draft and will continue to use Industrial Scripts for all my... (read more)

I ordered the general coverage analysis service #10 from Industrial Scripts and received my notes 10 days later. Not only was this a fast turnaround but the reader gave me an extra page of notes at no further charge. I have written many scripts and received lots of coverage reports from different companies and I am writing this review because I was overly impressed by the readers’ ability to highlight my scripts weaknesses effectively without making feel like a novice who should stick... In a very intense course that lasted the day, the tutor managed to, in depth, cover industrial and artistic processes for screenwriting and the profession of script reading and report production. The course covered narrative theory, genre, keeping structures tight and compelling and, perhaps most importantly, important insight into the world of the industry - and the journeys screenplays take to the first 'Action!'. Would recommend to anyone looking for further training into the profession... (read more)

This was a great 1-day course for new entrants. It gives an overview of what the industry is like and what you might need to succeed in both screenwriting and script reading. My criticism would be that it is a little pricey considering it's aimed at people - like graduates - who are looking to find a way into the industry. (read more)

A very good, intense, exhaustive course, covering all aspects of writing a good script report, information on the industry itself, a very useful list of key contacts, helpful course notes, and practical advice on how to get script-reading work, how to keep it, and how to build up a client base. There was much more of a focus on the pratical rather than the theory, and the course was very interactive, fun and interesting. A really good course outlining the basics of writing script reports. Knew very little on the topic before hand and now feel I have a good grasp of not only how to write a script report, but also how to go about getting work. Using films we'd already seen, and watching film clips, to analyse with more specificity was also really helpful and overall and interesting and insightful day. (read more)

The industrial scrips effective script reading course is a good stepping stone for anyone interested in entering the world of script reading/editing/film development. There was a good recap of what makes a god script followed by practical tips on how to write a report. Additionally we were given a wealth of notes for further reading which I found very helpful since you can't cover everything in one day. The course leader was very helpful and informative and made the 9 hours very interesting... (read more)

The venue was good and very easy to find, including the course handouts and the layout of the room. I have recently attended the 'Screenwriting and the World of Script Development Masterclass'. It was an intense one-day course that crammed as much theory and practice into its 8 hours as possible. I took a one day 'Screenwriting and World of Script Development' masterclass on Saturday 1 June 2013 and found the course to be very interesting and useful. It was very compact and covered many aspects of screenwriting and script development, as well as gave an insight into the industry itself and how to sell your work and build a career in the field. Very helpful and inspiring course. Industrial Scripts' Film Coverage Script Report is exactly what I expected, professional and thorough. But what I didn't expect is how thorough, how expansive (almost 6 pages), how insightful and how helpful it would be. I'm always sceptical of the script reading services industry that surrounds up and comers in the UK. There are a lot of people out there claiming to be script editors who have no real world experience who take cash from new writers for sub quality feedback. I decided to go for the final dry run industry report as a way of stress testing my script to the max and was very pleased with the feedback I had from the assessor.
