I have the Lacanche hob and cannot use it, instead I have to use the hob in the housekeeper's kitchen to cook. It looks beautiful, but is so hot that even a 5 litre pot boils over on the smallest circle at the lowest setting. I tried to use a heat diffuser, but all this does is slow down how long it takes the pan to overheat. It is OK for stirfries, but nothing else. Having read all the other reviews, I expect the stock (sic!) answer from the manufacturer would be to spend hundreds of pounds on a service. I now think hundreds of pounds will be better spent on a new hob. The other problem is cleaning the bronze heaters. They get dirty when the pots boil over, and cannot be cleaned other than with scourer which very quickly took off all the bronze surface. I am on mains gas, so the supply is not the problem.
