“been let down”

written by Inas1988 on 20/11/2014

I have booked a ten hours course with safedrive, and everything was going good. I booked my driving test and told my driving instructor "James" about it a month and before the date. he told me there will be no problem with the date and time. I told him that I wanted another 8 hours three weeks before the test and he was agreeable. a week before the test he told me that he cannot give me the hours we agreed upon and that he can only manage two sessions each an hour and a half. which I didn't like much but providing that I have been driving in my country for five years I thought with the previous 10 hours it might be enough. in the same day of the first lesson he called me to apologize about it and he did the same with next lesson. eventually he said he cannot go with me to the driving test cause I am not ready and it was too late to cancel it, but also too late to get a car to do the test with, so I didn't take it.
I am very very unhappy with the service and it did not come cheap.
many thanks for letting me write about my experience.

Hi there - I am sorry that you have had this poor experience with one of our instructors - can you please e-mail us more details so we can investigate further?

Thanks,

Well just because as you say " I drove in my country for 5 years" doesn't mean you are up to UK driving standards, sorry but your country and many others are well below the UK standards required to pass the UK test, if he says you are not ready then I would take his advice, he is after all a qualified ADI and has been tested and re tested to check he is up to standard, you put you wanted 8 hours 3 weeks before the test? Does that mean you had a break in lessons? Maybe you had one of the lessons and using his years of experience he believed you could not meet the required standards and just told you the truth.
