“Incompetent and misleading. Never use them”

I Recently we had the misfortune of using these people for what is to us a big job. Long story short, they installed a full length glass door even though we pointed to an exact copy of a half glass half plastic door that we already have. They installed the wrong door knocker on another door, took 12 weeks to install everything (correct or incorrect) when the contract states 4-6 weeks, again after we did all the chasing. “Complete Nightmare from start to finish”

I can not believe the way in which I was spoken to by staff at Bury St Edmunds branch, complete unprofessionalism and lack of customer service skills. I telephoned today to report that I had a chip in one of the window frames and the dog flap which had been installed in my back door was in fact a cat flap. “They employ Idiots!”

Just had one of their door-to-door canvassers call at my property. Obviously an 'Idiot of the Grade 1 variety' as no matter how many times I told him 'look we already have double glazing and a conservatory' (and even showed him) he still continued to attempt to 'bang on' about what Zenith 'were doing in the area and could offer me'. “Pestering never ends - avoid at all costs.”

This company pester constantly. We spent 3 hours with a salesman as we wanted a new front door. At the outset we told him we would not purchase on the night no matter what price he quoted. “Bodge It and Scarper”

Oh dear, where do I start? We ordered an electric garage door from them and firstly they completely missed the install appointment without telling us then turned up 2 1/2 hours late when they did decide to arrive. Am very disappointed with the aesthetics of the plastic window sill end cappings. These are glued inplace over the end of the sill leaving gaps around the profile and protrude around the end of the sill and look cheap & nasty. Had I known about this design and appearance before installation I would have opted to have retained the original wooden sills. “Excellent Gable End Conservatory”

All construction took place through a very wet winter taking longer than expected but resulted in a wonderful project when complete. “Harassment 10 phone calls a day Not Interested ”

I'm currently being harassed by this company just because I had them round for a quote stupid me!!! I give my phone mobile number, now I am being harassed up to 10 times a day with calls for the last 2 weeks , they just don't take no for an answer, I have now blocked this number so it goes directly to voice mail surely you must understand by now I am not Interested!!!!!!!!!if this harassment continues I will report them to trading standards… Read Full Review

You will find they only want you to give them feedback. It takes about 2-3 minutes. They ask if their trade guys can requote you a cheaper price after ! You say no then the phone calls stop. If you were serious to begin with about any work then what's the problem? The trade guys take just a short time remeasuring and quote usually a really great price! If you like then you sign up or you just say goodbye end of! Just a matter of being courteous to answer a few questions really. If your not picking up the phone to answer of course they will keep ringing!!!

“Pushy sales are back”

Stupidly answered a knock on my door and agreed to get a quick "no obligation" quote valid for 2 years for new windows and door to my front porch. I worked in this industry for a short while over 30 years ago now in my (extremely misguided) youth.

The stories I could tell you about the 'tricks of the trade' that were (and most probably still are) so common within this industry, not to mention the commission earnings.

One firm I knew of would even split on a 50:50 basis with the salesman any amount that they might have managed to overcharge the customer for the job (as if the 15% commission they were already getting on the total cost of the job wasn't enough!?)

By the way the 'rather high starting price' is known as 'Price Conditioning' - shall I go on....

In fact I used to have a whole 'Sales Manual' outlining the various tricks (or 'closes') that could be used to get the customer 'to sign' - some of which you wouldn't believe?

Be wary though, as the large amounts of money that could be made (one of my friends was earning over £55k a year in commission - and that was in the mid 1980's and he was only 24 at the time) which is why they are so pushy attracted some very 'unsavoury types' who you wouldn't really want to upset (if you know what I mean?)

I know of of one Salesman (a 6'5" and rather intimidating ex-Bricklayer) who used to brag about there being only two ways he'd ever leave a customer's house - either with the order, or when they physically threw him out!

One customer even called the police on him because he wouldn't leave. What's worse is that the manager rather than firing him, held him up to others as a 'hero' for his tenacity!

I left the industry very quickly as none of it ever sat well with me (despite the money that could be made) and it is also why these days I never ever let any 'Direct Sales' types into my house - life's just so much easier that way!

Had zenith windows over 25 years ago so when I needed several replaced we decided to go through them again.Sales pitch was very pushy first price not on this planet £18000.00 after the usual call to the office came down to £6000.00 I don,t like this type of selling but being very pleased with their previous product decided to go with them.Fitters arrived on time but unfortunately one fell when fitting the large bay window so instead of 2-3 days it took 7 even working on sunday.Windows look… Read Full Review

Much as would not ordinarily spring to the defence of a competitor, I feel compelled to point out that the issue you have is, in fact, exactly how your windows should look on clear mornings when it is cold. As you have dew on the outer leaf of the external pane, this is showing that the heat from your home is not escaping through the glazing and thereby heating the external pane. This dew normally clears within an hour or so. The only was to resolve this "problem" is to fit inferior glazing.
In northern Europe, where higher quality glazing has been the norm for years, this is expected and people realise this shows the quality of their glazing, not the reverse.
There's loads of info on the net about this.
I would give up on trying to find a solution to a problem that is not there
