Persistent cold calling led to me eventually agreeing to an appointment. Read some of the reviews on here and when the salesman arrived told him I wasn't interested in any hard sell etc. and that basically I had just agreed to the appointment to get his sales team off my back. He then decided to leave. This was followed up rapidly by not one but two phone calls from various "managers". I bought windows and patio doors off of this company and have been left feeling like I have been duped by unscrupulous salesmen. Their customer services department will treat you like you are stupid and try to make you feel like any problems with their product must be of your own making. The fitters who installed the windows were excellent and I would highly recommend them. My experience with Penicuik home improvements was found to be great. I had 7windows fitted by the company in April 2013. I got a amazing price that I didn't get anywhere else the quality of the product was 10 out of 10. I now have lovely upvc windows and they have been fitted perfect. The only down fall I had was receiving lots of marketing calls from the company before I even wanted to replace my windows few years ago. My phone number is listed with the tps privacy service, but this company doesn't seem to care! Have sent a complaint to tps. If they phone again, the response will not be polite! Certainly will not ever be hiring them, clearly no respect for people's privacy. (read more)

My experience with penicuik was fantastic I had no pressure put upon me at any stage from the first call I was asked about windows then called back by a manager she was very nice and straight to the point she explained because I had velux windows including my standard windows I would be cheaper going to velux direct she also told me that they discounted 1800 pounds for my 8 windows and an extra 30% after but in actual fact I was given a further discount when I was quoted . Penicuik windows are part of Weatherseal and it shows, Late to appointments and the abusive when on site when they are trying to win your custom, I would not use either of these companies to clean my windows never mind install them. (read more)

“Appalling Company - High Pressure Sales No Customer...”

This company employ a high pressure telemarking company that wont take no for a answer. Despite being on the TPS & ex-Directory they continue to call me every other day. I have notified them time and time again that I do not want to use them and will under no circumstances ever use this company, but still the call keep coming. Next stop the Information Commission Office to report them for their illegal marketing activities. See £90,000 fine handed out to DM Designs of Glasgow. (read more)

“Annoying Phone Calls”

Repeated phone calls from this excuse of a company. Have asked nicely on numerous occassions to have number removed from list. Finally reported them to the TPS which is easy to do online and the calls stopped. I don't understand why companies feel the need to bombard people with phone calls as in my opinion it shows what a ramshackle organisation they are. received a call from telesales department. Told the guy i only had one small side door needing replaced. he said that was no problems and put me through to another guy who said someone could be there that evening at 8pm. I asked if it would take long as it was friday evening and i aslo repeated that i only had one door to replace. he again assured me that was fine and that it wouldn't take long. was happy with the guys who installed the windows , but have had trouble with window handles . cant open half of them ! they sent someone out a few times but they never managed to fix them and trying to get hold of them is a nightmare . . . . now after about the 20th phonecall they say since its been a year we have to pay a £90 call out charge . but since this has been an on going problem i dont see why we should .so be very carefull before you part with your money . . . In spite of this, we have had several calls from this company this week, at antisocial times, in spite of informing them the first time that we are not interested. invited them out for a quote for a big job recently. on the night of the appt, they called to say the salesman had a 'flat tyre' and would not make the 8pm appt but would be there for 8.30. no offer to rearrange,may i add. the saleman finally turned up at 9.15. i told him to go as it was too late. started going on about my partner being present, i said that had nothing to do with them. since getting a new front door and side panel fitted in Feb last year, I didnt quite expect the door to "drop" and let in cold air and noise from the outside. Gave a decent quote then a week later phoned back to say it was incorrect and was about 1k more. Told them to refund my deposit, whisch they agreed. Waited nearly 4 months for the refund, despite several calls to their Head Office! I have their sales number on my ignore list as they continue to cold call our home number. Awful company! I seem to be experiencing muxh the same. Recent telephone call saying a mistake was made during initial consultation. The are now looking for an additional £700 which they said was £500 less than true cost to replace conservatory roof.

Penicuik Windows have been bombarding me with unwanted calls for some time now, I have asked them numerous times not to call back and we do get a bit of peace for a while. after gettin penicuk to instal our 8 windows 2 doors and a set of french doors at the beginning of july we are still waiting on some repairs to be finished. the french doors do not fit properly and we are in dispute with them regarding this. the manager is very unhelpful his mannerism is terrrible. the fitter were nice guys very pleasant helpful but they do the job theyr told to do. whent hey came back to refit a window they stuck the plastic frame finish to my cladding on the ceiling. not... This does not surprise me as Penicuk windowns have been taken over by Weatherseal! The worst double glazing company ever! They installed our windows and patio door several years ago but they installed the patio door inside out !!! so when it rained the water ran INTO the lounge!! the carpet was ruined, they replaced it and 'corrected' the patio door but it leaked again and once again ruined the carpet - they refused to replace the carpet as Weatherseal had now changed their name probably as they had so many complaints!!!

Absolutely atrocious service. And this was even before they crossed my doorstep!! I cancelled the appointment as we had decided to go with an alternative company. Then I was subjected to an interrogation over the phone with one of their sales reps!! Disgusted - and what's more, they are part of the DO NOT TOUCH Weatherseal group. Over two years and still cannot obtain a completion certificate because no electrical safety certificate was issued and on trying to obtain one - we are being told that no eart bonding was put in place - so we have to do thi at cost and disruption to ourselves. Been palmed off with excuses and lies for over two years - not happy. This company takes your money quickly and does not provide a fair service. Penicuik Windows have been in a lot of financial dificulty in recent years but the have now been bought over by Weatherseal. I have heard the horror stories of Weatherseal and did enter this with some trepidation..... this is the same company that was st helens glass,ripped off people then went bust to set up again,avoid like the plague! Nothing at all to do with st helens windows, they fitted my windows in february and are fantastic!

Em, don't know what your talking about Lovelyjubbly. Penicuik are a Midlothian firm that were based outside Edinburgh. Nothing to do with St Helens..... I still stick by my guns. Windows have been in for 6 weeks and we have noticed a huge difference.

I ,to have have issues with there after sales service,we had new windows and doors fitted in march 2012,few teething problems which is to be expected, however as the winter arrived I,found it more difficult to keep our house warm,I,found that there were drafts coming in through windows and doors,reported this problem,fitter came out and thought he had rectified this problem,however in february 2013 the problem was still there,Iphoned there service dept.told someone would call within 48 hoursmnothing phoned again late february still no joy.on the 6/4/2013 an after sales person called me to ask if I,was happy with my windows and doors,I explained to her about my problems she told me she would e.mail the service dept.to come out and rectify the problemsmsaid she would call before 11/00.a.m on the 8/4/2013,did not call I,phoned her she said sevice dept.had not called back.as of the 12/04/2013 Iam still waitng for a reply to my complaints,great way to treat there customers.
