Sorry of the lengthy review. There were too many issues to summarise. But if you are reading I would suggest not using this company at all before it is too late. 11th March – had quote a man who was very professional and did a great job. We were initially only interested in a new front door but went for windows as well. 23rd March – we agreed to the quote and was told verbally 6-8 weeks for installation. I didn't grumble when we finally got a date of the 17th June (11-12 weeks) 16th June – (the day before installation) I received a call to say the front door was not ready and they cannot even give me an estimate when it will be. I suggested we cancel the order as I didn’t want to go ahead without all the work being completed. Because the windows were ready I could not cancel the whole contract, only the door. 18th June – After speaking with General Operations Manager. We reluctantly agreed for the windows to be installed as we ‘are in contract’ and would need to pay for the windows anyway. During installation I met the Area Manager who joked how busy they were and how much money the company had made that year (Over £2 million) as this was the excuse for the tardy after service. I asked about compensation due to the issues and he said he would need to review and only offer a gesture of goodwill once the work was completed. After installation we noticed a blemish in one of the windows which Fineline suggested to replace. 16th July – Finally the new door was installed but faulty window still needed to be along with the side window of the front door. During the next 6 months Fineline come out numerous times to replace the windows. Each time there was a different problem mostly highlighted by the fitters, not us. During all of the below visits, not once was Glass and Glazing Federation standards mentioned. Had they of been it would of saved many hours and stress for all involved. 1st visit was due because there was an air bubble in your fixed unit and the flag window was the wrong glass. VISTED 30/07 PM 2nd Visit was to replace a sealed in your bedroom and replace the flag window again due to damaged VISTED 23/09 AM 3rd visit was to replace the bedroom sealed unit and flag window again due to damages VISTED 05/11 PM 4th main bed unit was replaced – damaged VISTED 16/11 PM 5th visit main bed unit was replaced again VISTED 03/12 PM - Once they brought the wrong size window. - Only turning up with one window (not two that needed replacing) - Turning up at different times than specified. In the end I phoned the Area Manager and begged and pleaded with him to make sure that when the last window was replaced for someone to check it to make sure it was ok. 3rd December – the last window is installed and my wife highlights a scratch and finger print marks inside the glass. I immediately call Area Manager for him to come and see first hand. He says that he personally inspected the glass and there were no issues. He came to my house and came across very dismissive and rude and He also said that the blemishes do not need to be corrected if you cannot see at a 3 meter distance. This is industry standard and we should have been told.. again why this was mentioned 6 months previously is beyond me. He states rudely ‘that we haven’t even paid anything yet’. He had stated previously we wouldn’t need to pay until the work had been finished. I asked him at this stage about the compensation and he offered £100 gesture of goodwill. I felt given all of the above, this was insulting and unacceptable and asked him to leave my property. I then called and left a message for someone else to call me back to discuss. 9th December – Nearly a week later and I had no call back from him. He did however send me an email asking me to pay my invoice and £100 Gesture of Goodwill had been applied. If we didn’t pay then 4% interested would be applied. 14th December – I had a number of outstanding questions unanswered which I chased but was responded to that if I didn’t pay then ‘then we will have no choice but to apply the interest as per the terms of the contract and pass to our Group Legal Team for recovery of the full debt’ I paid the balance reluctantly to finally end the nightmare and Fineline agreed to install the original window again. I had copied in the MD in the last few emails as I read an article this year from him saying that customer care is their number one priority. I had no response from him directly and feel that their only priority is taking peoples money. Avoid this business at all costs!

“After sales bad”

★★★☆☆

written by Snydercd382 on 17/02/2016

I purchased Windows from Fineline 2 years ago with a 10 year warranty, but had at least 10 problems, while I was paying over a 2 year interest free the service wasn't too bad, but once I'd paid in full the service lapse, taking fitter 3 weeks to call and another 3 to 4 weeks to sort the problem that's if they didn't cancel to rearrange, I paid just under £9000 for my windows and felt the quality was bad and not made by Fineline as originally told, found out by fitter they were locally made.

“Frnch Doors”

★★★★★

written by BigJohn88 on 25/10/2015

Having had my front windows replaced, I thought I would get a quote for my French Doors. Whilst not the cheapest, the quality, and the guarantee were worth the extra. The fitters arrived on the appointed day, and time. They were polite and friendly. The work was carried out quickly and competently. I watched them in the early critical stages and they did the job properly. I did not reveal to them that I had in the past fitted many windows and doors as part of my business. The trimming was particularly neat. where appropriate the silicon was transparent, this is particularly important where it joins brickwork or pebble-dash. The fitters made detailed explanation of the door locks and ioperation. All was cleaned up and left tidy on completion. Very satisfied.

“Replacement door and windows”

★★★★★

written by yeDickey219 on 11/09/2015

I wanted to renew my windows and 2 internal door leading to my conservatory. We have alternative quotes that cut the size of my doorway down to leave just enough room to walk through sideways. Fineline came out gave me a solution and the doorway is now wider, plus they advised that due to the small depth and the long length of my bathroom window as it was already white and there was nothing wrong with it, it would not notice if it was not replaced, so why "waste money", I don't think many companies would have given that advise. Could not be happier, they were quick to install, really tidy and helpful polite installers. Would definitely recommend them.

“Windows and French Doors”

★★★★★

written by on 18/08/2015

The fitters arrived promptly on the day of installation and got to work taking out the old windows. As I had mentioned that my carpet was fairly new the dust sheets were also brand new. The new windows were quickly installed and the whole process took far less time than I had expected. Apart from looking good the new units are extremely efficient and easy to open (my originals required both hands to open). The French doors have had such an impact on the light coming into the dining area and when both doors are open the space is great. Any rubbish or debris from the work was cleaned up and even the carpet was vacuumed over.

written by Griffin417 on 11/08/2015

From the planning stage to the finished article, we was always kept informed of each phase of the build. Our surveyor was always available and quickly resolved any issues that cropped up. This has given us a wonderful new addition to our house and is a talking point among our friends and neighbours. I would highly recommend a FineLine conservatory because it is of high quality and looks stunning.

“Excellent Service”

★★★★★

written by on 11/08/2015

This is the second time I have dealt with Fineline, both experiences were without doubt excellent from start to finish. Our recent fitter was polite and simply got on with the job of fitting french doors with upmost care and professionalism. Answered my questions and worked in a very organised and tidy manner, very impressed. Follow up has been just as professional and I will indeed use Fineline for my next project sometime in the future. The estimated date of arrival was earlier than predicted and was a bonus. I am a very satisfied customer of Fineline

“Bi Folding doors”

★★★★☆

written by vzWest179 on 05/08/2015

I would just like to say that we were very satisfied with the fitting of our bi folding doors the two fitters were extremely thorough and and were very cheeful and I knew they were completely in control and knew what they were doing, no mess and left everything in order, we had to call them back as we noticed the day after that although the doors closed, a certain way we did close them it felt like something was catching but we rang and spoke to fine line customer services and they came back and rectified the problem within days , the problem was not due to the fitters, it was to do with the frame and the way the screws were fitted, But all is well and we are extremely happy with the end product

“2nd rate”

★☆☆☆☆

written by doug7 on 27/07/2015

We wanted a Loggia installed at the rear of our house in 2014. The Loggia is manufactured and supplied by Ultraframe. A magnificent piece of craftmanship. Unfortunstely we chose Fineline to instal it. The total cost was reasonable at £23k.we were quoted £25k by the salesman. Unfortunately for him I saw the quote on his computer at 23 so he had to admit up front that he loaded the quote. Alth planning relaxations meant we xid not need planni g permission, Fineline insisted on £450 extra in case they needed to obtain planning permission. We showed Fineline that planning permission had been relaxed, the surveyor agreed yet they kept insisting on the need to che k. 3 months passed and tney didnt bother checking. After calls to head office they accepted planni g permission was not needed, yet held onto the money. An itemised itinary was agreed dor the works and installation. We were told the dates quoted for each stage of the works were guaranteed. None of the dates were kept to which meant i had to keep changing my own commitments. After groundworks were completed, installation started. The 2 fitters stayed just 90 minutes after first asking for a cup of tea. One pane of glass was cracked and needed replacing. The replacement was too small and needed yet another replacement. That took 2 weeks. One glass panel was supplid without a cat flap that had been ordered. An overflow to a toilet was boxed in and I had to unblock it and divert the pipe. Despite it being on the plans, the fitters couldn't be.bothered. The roof leaked. The fitters came back. One week later the roof leaked again and it was arranged for tbe fitters to return the following Monday to repair the leak at 9.30. At 9.25 we haf a call to say they were stu k on a motorway in heavy traffic so would we be hzppy for them to come later in the week. We said no, bet here as soon as you can today. 3 MINUTES LATER THE VAN ARRIVED. They just couldn't be bothered. At the end of installation, it was made clear to us that we would not receive the £450 refu d until we signed to say we were happy with the installation. 10 days after signing we received a screwed up cheque. Would I recommend a Loggia. Yes all day lo g. WOULD I RECOMMEND FIBELINE : NO

“No fuss installation”

★★★★★

written by JBBJB on 23/07/2015

We chose a new front door with side panelling and to start with the cost was far more reasonable that either of us had anticipated. From ordering to complete install was only a matter of weeks and all staff that we met or spoke to on the telephone provided an excellent service. Before ordering our questions were answered clearly by an excellent sales lady who really knew the product. The two young men that completed the install obviously knew what they were doing as well and were both extremely courteous and left no mess behind.
