“Shoddy workmanship with no guarantee”

★☆☆☆☆

written by rambs on 07/02/2015

Moved into a house with 5 year old Everest windows. Removed some ivy to find the wall above one of the downstairs windows was cracked and collapsing due to no lintel having been fitted. I contacted Everest to correct the problem under their transferable guarantee, which after some exchanged correspondence, they reluctantly agreed to do.
I then discovered the Everest fitted guttering was leaking near a joint. I investigated to find that the guttering had been cut a centimetre short of the rubber seal and the gap had been filled in with sealant which after a couple of years had deteriorated and was leaking water like a sieve. I contacted Everest again to correct the work, to be told by a bolshy depot manager that on this occasion I would have to pay a 50 quid fee to transfer the guarantee from the original customer to myself before they'd come out. I told him where to go and repaired the job myself.
Avoid Everest!
