Sort of satisfied

Having had two windows replaced by Crystal about ten years ago and been satisfied with the results, I did not expect any problems. The one thing I was very uncomfortable about was the feeling of being hassled into deciding to have the work done on the day of the visit of your salesman. I did tell him how I felt and that I wanted the opportunity to obtain alternative quotes, and he said he would be unable to hold the price quoted unless I agreed a date and paid the deposit. This was because "he had a gap in the schedule which needed to be filled", and this was the best price he could give me. As I wanted the work done and the date given suited me, I agreed to go ahead although still feeling uncomfortable about the speed with which everything had happened. On the date agreed for the installation I received a phone call to say it would not take place and a new date the following week was arranged. This suggested to me that the original date was not as crucial as I had been led to believe.

Having said this, so far, I have no complaints regarding the windows. The workmen did a good job and were efficient, tidy and cleaned up well when they left. I think the company is professional in its follow up, ie sending paperwork quite soon after completion. As I was reluctantly replacing original leaded windows due to rotting, put in when the house was built in 1903, I was very apprehensive about the final look of my property. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised and actually like the look of my house and do not miss the originals, as I had feared.

Overall, the windows and fitters are good, the salesman although quite pleasant, was too pushey for my comfort. Maybe the system could be modified to enable quoted prices to be held for a week without customers feeling costs will rise if there is a delay. I was inches away from cancelling the whole thing because of this.
