Doors & windows

The fitter was earlier than expected and I was not ready when he arrived ,and there was only one to do all the fitting. I was led to believe that due to being delayed on a large job, that there were a lot of fitters available that week but this did not appear to be the case. When the fitter queried if there was anyone to help him , he was told that there was not. This meant that the work took place over 2 days instead of one. This could have been a problem if I had to take extra days off of work. He was very efficient and tidied up behind him.
There was a problem when he cut through my telephone wires. The surveyor had previously said that the telephone wires would not be a problem. When the maintenance man looked at the wiring he said that they could not repair it and I would have to call out BT. BT could not fix it for over 4 days and charged £129.
I mentioned this in my comments on the form.
Overall, I am pleased with my new front door and back door and the adjacent windows.The fitter showed me how the locks work and was very friendly and worked hard to get the work finished.
I was not happy about the damage to the telephone wiring and was not offered any compensation by the company for the cost of the repair.
I also felt that I had not been told the truth about the job that had been cancelled as there clearly were not excess staff available to complete the work.
