Down a small road right on the beach in Burton Bradstock West Dorset is the Hive Cafe. Anyone who is a sea food fan needs to visit this place. The boats from which the catch is hauled in every day are just in front of the restaurant and the building itself looks like a standard beach front cafe, but with a big awning attached which is the seating area. Once inside though you come face to face with the awesome looking fish counter where you can chose your dinner! This place is not fussy, once you have chosen your food you head up to the counter via the fully stocked fridges (Wine, fizz, ale and good good cider) and tell them what you want and where your sat. Our two mains were - - Whole lobster cooked in garlic butter with chips, a huge salad and home made coleslaw all served on a chopping board. This was a huge and very delicious meal. The Price. twenty five pounds! For a whole lobster! - Our second main was scallops, chorizo and samphire, served with home made crusty bread and a salad. This was also amazing! And great value. You might expect to pay 7, 8 or 9 pounds for a starter of scallops with like 3 scallops. We have at least 15 scallops in this dish all perfectly cooked for 18 pounds. We left here 2 very happy little fish faces. Its not the cheapest eat in the world, but the quality and value for money is amazing.
