I bought a cooker from comet for my daughter. The seller insisted that the item needed fitting by a qualified electrian and they would provide this service for £65. I thought this expensive for our area, but I was going on holiday and paid for their service for convenience.

The item arrived but the so called electrician took one look and said was not able to fit and said get money back. He did not give an explanation.

I found a qualified electrician who fitted the cooker and my washing machine for £50. There were no electrical problems and any electrician could have fitted it.

I do not believe Comet sent an electrician as stated by their sales assistant. They sent a guy who was just hoped to plug it in and charged £65 for this. It is outrageous. They want £65 for nothing, and if it turns out that it is an actual electrician required they break the contract and say get your money back.

They even have a cheek to say you have 28 days to go in store and collect your money. This is not true. I believe you have 3 years and also I could have sued them for breech of contract.

This is not the first time comet have done this. I will never buy from them again. Never never never use their fitting service. They have still not explained.
