Bought a Indesit washing machine from Comet Falkirk on 30/10/11 it worked till 21/04/12 then went up in smoke, engineer came out and said he,d have to order a new drum and would fix it on 1/05/12 but this was week of my holidays so now have to wait til1 10/05/12 till i get back to get it fixed leaving me NO way to wash except by hand for anything for my holidays or bedding etc,when i phoned up falkirk Comet to ask for a replacement got told no and got told this was manufactures guarantee not theirs so it was their responability, phoned indesit up again asking them if they could hurry repair along got told no phoned up falkirk trading standards got told that contract is with COMETS not manufacturers phoned them back and got told it wasnt it was with manufacturer and if i wanted an engineer from Falkirk Comet to come out then i would void my guarantee altogether,and girl called Lisa should be sacked her manner to me was shocking,she had no customer service experiance at all and was exceedingly nasty when i told her Trading standards said contract was with Comets as that is where I purchsed goods and was quite adiment that it WAS NOT, so to round it all off its been passed from pillar to post and in the meantime i,m left with a washinig machine that is of no use to anyone till at least the 10thMay, this has completly wasted my on coming holiday as i now have to pay to get my clothes [jacket, bedding etc] washed at a launderette so my advice is avoid Comets stores [and Indesit products as they arent up to much if they break down and go up in smoke in 5months,[although a man from Indesit did phone me to explain that i,d just have to wait as there was nothing he could do to help and at least he spoke to me with a bit of decency ] like the plague as if something breaks down, Comets attitude is tough you,ll have to wait for it TO GET FIXED 3TIMES because it wont be getting replaced or refunded before this, thats for sure.DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY AS YOUR RECEIPT FOR YOUR CASH IN COMETS IS WORTHLESS,I WILL NEVER EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM AGAIN and will not be recommending anyone else too either, so much for helping customers maybe they should try replacing or refunding there shoddy goods they are selling and they might not have nearly went out of buisness in the first place and i,m so fuming at the moment that I HOPE THEY DO as who sends out an engineer without the parts after you,v told them whats went wrong with it on the phone,that cant actually fix the problem, what a waste of my time/day actually staying in for a two minute visit [as engineer only just turned the drum in machine eventually and that was the extent of his expertise, apart from first looking at his computer without even going near the machine] which leads me to think this has been a common problem with these machine,s only to be told i,d have to do the same again on the 10th May, jolly good job that I dont have a big family to wash for. Comets/indesit do not care once they have your money so DONT GIVE THEM IT.[Maybe the engineer can do all the washing for me when he comes back too.]Comets Falkirk or Indesit may yet be charged for any additional costs + inconvience money to ourselfs as we havent got money to waste on sub standard goods from anyone. [This review may be continued on the 10th May if engineer doesnt fix the machine or turn up etc and next stop after that would be small claims court for the money back from Comets]
