Last week my husband and I went into the Cheltenham store to buy a Beko fridge freezer. We found the one we wanted and asked one of the sales assistants if we could order it. We showed him the one and he processed it, organised when we wanted it delivered, and took our payment.
Today we received the fridge freezer, but when we unpacked it, we realised it was the wrong one. We checked the receipt and saw that the item number matched what we had been delivered, but it definitely wasn't the one we had asked for! We took the receipt back to the Cheltenham store, explained that we'd been delivered the wrong item and showed them which item it should have been. We were told that they could exchange the fridge freezers, but because the one we wanted had gone up by nearly £50, we would have to pay the difference! We were totally outstanded by this! I explained that I was on a budget and could not afford the extra. Also as this had been totally Comet's error, why on earth should we have to pay the extra? They went on to say we could have a refund - but what would be the point if I still couldn't afford the fridge freezer I wanted? We reluctantly agreed to keep the one we'd had delivered to save the hassle, but felt very unfairly treated.
The next day we received an email saying that the freezer ‘we say’ we asked for was never at the price we say it was and that they had done everything they could! Basically calling us liars! I will never be shopping there again!
