we,ve kept german shephards for years and our vet has always recomended dry and tinned chappie. we have kept our last 5 dogs on this and never had any problems with their digestion since feeding them this. one of our girls became diabetic which hadn,t been obvious due to weight loss or other normal signs because chappie is also recomended for diabetic dogs. we originally used it for a very sickly pup who we fostered from a breeder. their vet said the pup would probably die due to vomiting after every feed with several different foods, our vet said try chappie its one of the best foods you can give a dog. people just dont trust it because its cheap! we,ve used nothing else since (20 years) and our sickly pup died at 13 years old.

We gave a 8 month female German Shepherd and she has had colits twice and now found she has bowel syndrome ~ our vet also suggested Chappie.

We have had her on chappie now for over a month and its great
We also tried half dried chappie and half tin chappie ~ she loved it and her digestive & bowel systems seems great.

Nothing wrong with CHAPPIE !!!!!!

This is for Evancs
You still can get Original Chappie
I know you can get it on internet
To be honest, I dont know what to feed my dog on when the Original Chappie does eventually run out.....
I wish they would just leave things alone.

So what is everyone feeding their dogs now? I tried the Turkey and Rice James Wellbeloved as our Lab allergic to beef but she's put on loads of weight already so I am looking for a lighter alternative. Plus it was really expensive! Any ideas?

I no longer use chappie since they changed it and i am pretty confident alot of people have had the same problems i have had as the local pet stores tell me they are struggling to sell the new mix.

I am having exactly the same problem, manufacturer tells me no change but how can it be that it has been fine for years and now it upsets my dog to the point he wont eat it?

Hi I totally agree.
I have a 8 month old female German Shepherd and she has had colits twice and also has bowel syndrome. We had her on JWB and also tried Walfcol ~ they were no good at all ~ the Vet advised to use Chappie Original and it has worked a treat.
Just shows ~ you dont have to spend alot of money on named brands.
Wish I had done it sooner.
