The Ricoh Caplio R6 is the best camera I have ever used for quick use and the only one that I carry with me all the time ! I leave it set at what I consider optimum all round values ------ thus saving time , and I only have to use the "trim" adjust button to suit occasionally ! Some people hate having to spend any time discovering what a camera can really do when familiar with ALL its settings !!! Such a pity !!!!!!!

“The automatic setting on the Ricoh Caplio R6 is only...”

★☆☆☆☆

The automatic setting on the Ricoh Caplio R6 is only good for a fairly bright day with no abnormal conditions. The flash is useless when it comes to taking photos in even slightly darker conditions (it can't even manage early dusk outside) so avoid evenings with friends, parties or anywhere with slightly subdued lighting as your people will end up over exposed with a very dark background. Night time is an impossibility, you won't be able to see anyone in the image.
Manual white balance doesn't work well. It doesn't do what it's meant to.
The 'irodio' software is pretty useless too Don't be fooled by the lovely large lens, or the apparent simplicity of function. There's no such thing as a spontaneous photo with this camera, you'll have to try every other setting before you end up with an even vaguely passable image.
