Have had a Konica Minolta Dimage 500 for several years now and have found it most unreliable. Brand new batteries only last for a few shots before the battery indicator shows battery low warnings. Never seems to switch on when you want it to, even after numerous presses of the off/on switch.

Appalling battery life, unbelievably slow shutter lag, bad in anything other than a bright day outside, dreadful inside virtually impossible, tons of red eye even with reduction. Don't buy it.

This is my first digital camera so blamed myself for a lot of the shortcomings, however now know other cameras are not like this. Very long wait before a picture can be taken. Seem to have a low battery after very little use. Unreliable when loading pictures from camera to computer, sometimes won't turn on without several attempts. Have difficulty turning camera on at times. Generally unreliable, seems to have a mind and attitude of its own.

It is compact, with an adequate array of basic features for a beginner. Unfortunately it has poor picture quality if you try taking pictures with the conditions outside the "ideal" parameters for its basic settings. It also chews up batteries like there's no tomorrow. We tried Alkaline, NiMH and NiCd.
Overall, the Konica Minolta Dimage E500 digital camera is not too bad, as we were given the camera as a present.

I thought it was just me, but the picture quality of the Konica Minolta Dimage E500 is terrible. I compared the pictures I take with this brand new camera with the ones I take with my 5 year old digital camera and the old camera still takes sharp, clear images. This new camera takes pictures that are fuzzy, blurry, and the color is not sharp at all. I give up.

The Konica Minolta Dimage E500 was my first digital camera, and so far I'm not at all impressed. Maybe it's how I use it, but it seems almost impossible to take a good picture with it. Either it's not in sharp focus, the light is wrong, or the battery is low.

Like the knight, I was less than impressed with the Konica Minolta Dimage digital camera.
The first point is the time lag between the shutter being pressed and a photo taken, which is on average 2-3 seconds, and that is poor, even for a budget camera.
My main gripe is the short battery life and unreliable operation, i.e. failing to start up, unpredictable shut downs, one minute battery dead indication, the next two 'bars' on the indicator. Even when downloading with an adaptor, the power will suddenly fail. I returned the camera to Jessops to be looked at, but they weren't bothered.
I find the picture quality average, but even so, wild horses shouldn't drag you to this camera.

I just recently purchased a Konica Dimage E-500 compact digital camera and I am not at all impressed with its Picture taking capabilities.
I Purchased it for my wife as a gift, and it has been only 1 month since I purchased this Camera, and out of the 100 - 150 pictures it has taken, I might say 20 have turned out (in focus). Even if the auto focusing indicator tells you that the image is in focus, IT IS NOT!!!
If anyone has any further information or similar problems, please post a review here. I have gone as far as sending the Camera in question back to the manufacturer for further investigations into this problem.
