“Tried it for a day! Psychologically damaging! ”

This is the worst diet I've seen to date! Not being a fan of diets and knowing why I've put on weight (the usual bad meal timings due to studying commitments), I tried this after seeing a colleague lose weight on it!

After a day of eating those disgusting meal supplements, I felt woozy, cold, clammy and experienced insomnia - symptoms I've never experienced whilst fasting for religious reasons.

I instantly realised this diet was going to give me psychological issues I've never had. And as nice as my councillor seemed; she was telling me things that were logic and common sense but at the same time, there were a lot of potential psychological issues to be caused for the weak minded such as dependency on the diet and guilt from having normal human habits!

Honestly, take it from me, we all know we put on weight because we overeat, have high junk food diets and very little exercise. Whilst it is tempting to shed these pounds rapidly; I seriously don't thinks it's worth the long haul psychological damage.

I thought to myself whilst in just a day and a half I could feel my tummy was flatter; I felt horrible and awful inside and it was at that point I realised when I lose my weight and reach my target; I'm gonna feel mentally drained and unwell and starved inside! My overall well being is of utmost importance to me which includes heart mind body and soul!

I think lighter life teaches us common sense things - they bang on about 'changing how we see food and the emphasis automatically will make one think that they view food differently and need counselling to make a change. That is not true! For years now healthy living has been a medical focus. This is achievable on your own without disgusting payouts to businesses that grip you and keep you. Willpower people! That's what we need. Not some mediocre person treating us like children showing us false sympathy and concern. So they read emails and you can call them and yes some of the councillors may genuinely care; but don't forget, they're not with you all the time. That willpower that you have in their absence comes from you. If you have that, you don't need a diet company that uses ridiculous amount of sweeteners in their bars and shakes making them taste like powder. Google the negative effects of sweeteners. The irony!

Also, the cost is disgusting and the attitude when you ring the free phone line is simply pathetic. I was asked why I wanted to go on the diet! Seriously, isn't that a no brainer?!

I'm now starting a conventional healthy eating plan (not calling it a diet because it's a lifestyle change not just a seasonal weight loss method with side effects). I know it will work because it has done in the past. Pros: I can lead a normal life and lose wight without compromising my overall well being. Weight loss is slower but when you look at the pro; it makes the whole thing worth it ;-)

If you want to follow my blog (can't post link yet) post here and I'll send the link. It's just my journey. If it helps anyone else then fab!

I can't believe I almost fell for this spiel -_-

Lots of love from the one who hates businesses taking advantage of vulnerable people.

It sounds to me that you DO have deep seated issues, a lot of anger and judgement. If we could all be autonomous and disaplind we would all be slim and in control. The food industry wouldn't make so much money out of us. £10 per day for phycological guidance and all the food your body needs doesn't sound expensive to me.

I've been on lighter life for 1 month now and lost 2 stone. I'm a 44 year old successful business owner with a very strong personality and a recently discovered underactive thyroid problem. This is the most amazing and best diet i have ever attempted. I wish i'd done it years ago. Yes everything they say is obvious ( to me it is as i'm very well educated and make it my business to find out about things) But it still works if you work it! ( as they say in lots of 12 step programmes!) I was desperate, not massively fat (15 stone) but as i told my husband its this or a gastric band. This wins out every time. The ability to take a step back and reassess and re-evaluate one's relationship with food is fantastic, And i like the packs, maybe because i dont eat junk food or take aways I like the absolute parameters, but then i'm a person who, when i set my mind to it, it gets done. And £73 a week for 6 monhts for a lifetime of avoiding diabetes , heart disease, hip and knee replacement and looking like a wreck is worth it . Besides that would buy me 3 drinks at my local! Each to their own, but i can't recommend this highly enough.
