I started Go Lower after spending three weeks on a very low calorie diet. I had been really ill on the other diet but didn't want to give up completely - Go Lower was the answer and it is definitely working for me. I have lost 3.5 stone and more than 25 inches overall - I was a sixe 22 to start and now almost in a 16. The food is really easy to prepare, there's no counting or measuring as you are told to have your veg in handfuls. The soup is tasty although the broccoli and cheese was a bit overpowering in the office so I try to avoid having that one at work! It is easy to plan a night out or a meal with the family and I am never hungry. The scary part has been going into transition where I have to plan and prepare some of the meals for myself but this is easing me gently into the independence stage and this diet has taught me to make intelligent choices in my meals and snacks. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes last year and I have had high blood pressure for the last 15 years. My blood pressure medication has been vastly reduced and the nurse is very pleased with my blood sugar results too.
I would recommend this to anyone who has struggled with other diets, I can call or email my consultant at any time and if she can't help she will refer me to the nutrition team. Would have liked a little more guidance at the beginning but overall Go Lower has been fantastic.
