I've been a slimming world member for 3 months and have lost 2 stone. I love that I am learning to cook proper healthy delicious filling meals rather than snacking on convenience food.
Yes I've had the odd bad week (over Christmas for example) but these have usually been followed by good weeks, due to a bit of determination (yes funny enough you do need a little bit of will power) and the support of the consulatant and group. The group is great for sharing ideas and tips, and the website, books and magazines are full of dinner ideas that everyone will like.
There is no weighing but the idea is that you learn to eat a bit less over time, by kidding yourself into thinking your eating more through filling 1/3 of your plate with salad or veggies. If you do it properly, you will find that your appetite eventually decreases without you even trying!
My favourite thing is feeling 100% in control of what I eat for the first time in my life. I know I can have treats if I need them, and I know I can have a really good day or two to make up for an over indulgence, yet I will never feel hungry or deprived.
I can't speak highly enough of this plan which encourages healthy eating, enjoying your food, losing weight at a sensible rate, and changing long term bad habits into good ones. Give it a go, I know not everything works for everyone but I think most people can benefit from the "Food Optimizing" philosophy.
