“Great but...”

★★★★☆

I've been a SW devotee for about 3 years now, and have been at my target weight for s and a half years. I have read some of the reviews and agree with some and sympathise with others.

If you get a good consultant, it is great. The support from both the consultant and the group can be really motivating, especially if you are having a bad time with the weight loss. If you have a bad consultant, you can be given bad information, be unmotivated and totally lose interest. I know - our group have had about 8 consultants for one reason or another since I have been there, and that's not including the ones who stand in for the odd week!! My group is supportive and that is crucial.

The diet plans (there are 3) are based around the same theme of free and superfree food. It works for veggies as there is a green plan, and the meat eaters have the red and extra easy plans. SW are really pushing the extra easy plan, but this does not work for everyone! The trick is to give it a good go, ask for support from the group and have faith.

My only complaint is that in all the leaflets and booklets they push you to lose, but there is little focus on what to do once your each target to stay there. It has been trial and error (and lately a lot of error) but it is a lifestyle change.

On SW you can still eat chocolate, biscuits, drink alcohol and eat cheese, but in moderation!!

In short, good to give it a go for about 3 months before a true judgement can be made, and it will only work if you are totally honest about your food intake!
