“appalling delivery service”

I have written a very favourable review regarding the actual food however I never fail to have problems with the delivery service. I have been waiting in all day, it is now 6pm and I have just received a text stating that i changed the date of delivery until tomorrow which is a lie. So not only is the service poor but lies are told. Why would I arrange a delivery for tomorrow if I have been waiting in all day. Tomorrow will probably be the same with no delivery and more lies, its unforgivable. I had appointments tomorrow and the rest of the week but now have to cancel tomorrows as I do not want this very heavy parcel delivered to a neighbour. No doubt it wont be delivered tomorrow either who knows. The tracking system is useless and tells you nothing. I told several friends today that I was expecting a Diet Chef deliver and they said " you dont really expect it to arrive do you" knowing past experiences. If you have time on your hands and can wait around for days then diet chef is for you as the food and plan are excellent.

“Horrible food”

Food is horrible, processed, tastes disgusting, not healthy options are quite often high in one element or another for example salt. These meals are not at all satisfying and I can think of little worse than having to force a meal down as it is so disgusting and then still feeling hungry. The only elements that I have enjoyed are SOME of the breakfasts and they are not any healthier or lower in calories than any supermarket have.

“food sucks, cancellation fee”

so, I tried the diet for a month. the food is processed, contains a lot of sugar, I would definitely not recommend it to anyone who wants to make a transition to healthy living as, trust me, it is not healthy. if you want to lose weight at any cost, maybe this is for you. fairly cheap but be aware of the hidden charges. after cancelling my next order, as I was to go away from home for a month, I was charged 50 quid. this is a joke. not recommended.

“Disappointed with the new TV adverts ”

Well disappointed. the only reason I bought and indeed bought and bought Diet Chef food was for the seriously horny bird in the TV adverts and who do we have now ?, some horrible fat blonde. Bring back the "That's a number I'm happy with" bird. I well disappointed and not buying another plate of this stuff till she's gracing my TV again !

I don't think the lady in question is a good model for Diet Chef anymore as she's quite a waif now ( must have been all them diet chef meals :-) ).
Also, think you are slightly confused here, the "horrible fat blonde" you refer to in the new TV adverts could be the new talent for Wiltshire farm foods ( but I could be wrong ).

Just had a terrible experience. Stopped placing orders months ago & phoned DC to say I did not want anymore orders but they could keep open my subscription in case next year I changed my mind. The girl said fine. Monday I got an email saying they were delivering a box, could not stop it. DC had taken £195 off my credit card. Now they are saying until the box is back with them they cannot refund my money. DC were in error sending the order, yet they still took money out of my account. I am now £195 worse off on my account. Do not, under any circumstances, use this firm.

“Good products BAD customer service”

I ordered 8 weeks supply and this arrived quickly in two boxes. Upon opening them I realised that much of the products had been changed. I contacted Diet Chef about this and they said they had not changed them. Bearing in mind I NEVER eat curry or lamb or biscuits or wanted shakes why then have I received them. Their Website is not working so it was impossible to check what had happened. An expensive mistake as much of the stuff will be thrown away. BEWARE £300 is a great deal of money to spend when you do not get the correct goods.

The first thing I opened was the pea soup in a pouch. I could not eat it. It was horrible. I tried a few of the dinners. They were just as bad. Do not waste your money. I guess you could loose weight by starving to death.

I used Diet Chef but cancelled after most of the food I ordered was substituted as some of the foods which I originally ordered were unavailable. This was back in January 2013. I cancelled shortly after my first order and it was at this time I also got an offer through clearing to begin studying at University abroad for which I obviously had to move away. As I was in rented accommodation I handed in my notice immediately and less than 2 weeks later off I went full of the joys of spring! Over a year later I was back in my hometown at my parents' house and was sorting through some of my paperwork as I was in the process of purchasing my own property. There were unopened bank statements among other unopened letters, naturally, having been out of the country and having had all my mail re-directed to my parents' house. As I was reading my bank statements I noticed I had been charged from January 2013 till June 2013 with the amount totalling £1215.47!!!!! I immediately contacted Diet Chef and was rather rudely told that I had cancelled in May 2013 which to put it nicely, was a load of old tosh - this was almost a year later that I was contacting them in May 2014! So basically, Diet Chef unlawfully took money from my bank account, refused to refund me and even more amazingly apparently "still delivered food" to my address up until June 2013! Where the hell this food went I have no idea but I sure hope someone enjoyed a good feast! To sum up, avoid Diet Chef at all costs unless you want them to take money from you!

“Not happy with the response from DietChef”

I placed a review of Dietchef on Autopilot but wasn't very pleased with the response I received back from Dietchef. Yes I didn't fully read the Groupon offer before I ordered my first week's supply that it was only for 5 days. What I did't like was that I can't see any where on the review to add a further comment. The response I received was quite honestly rather offensive in its tone. I think whoever responds to the comments needs to go on a Customer Service course and learn to tone down the sanctimonious tone! May it was written by a Robot as there seems to be a lack of customer interaction. I won't be using Dietchef again due their high and mighty attitude towards customers once they have your money. It was interesting reading the many negative comments about them

“Processed mush - terrible customer service”

Do not use diet chef!!! I ate one of the cookies which had an 'unidentified' object in it which I was later told was part of the cookie but the object was that hard when I bit down on it I broke my tooth, after over 2 months they have done nothing to provide any compensation, after I had provided an estimated cost from my dentist for the work I needed doing and also sending back the object I found In the cookie. Also the food is terrible, it tastes as it is ... Processed, synthetic rubbish!

“The food and hidden charges”

i signed up for 12 months and my box came very quickly I found the soups nice the rest was a lot of sauce little meat or flavour this is my taste buds others may find it nice,I was surprised how much food there was I weighed it up and thought considering the amount I didn't like I wanted to cancel and was bitten by a £50 cancelation fee really £50 before this I used farm house foods no rip of cancelation fee there,it's in the terms and conditions some were? Sad really I would have recommended them but something that charges that it should be upfront not hidden away

“Good but could be a lot better”

I decided to use diet chef as a little experiment to myself. I initially signed up for the 8 week plan and initially was very pleased with the food and the weight loss. However, it was as my order was coming to an end that I started to have problems. I received an email saying my order would be deliveredshortly - odd I thought as I haven't actually signed up for anything more, just the initial 8 weeks. But before I could do anything I received the order, even odder was the fact that the meals I received bore no relationship to the meals I had ordered previously, clearly the computer had just decided to send me stuff, what's more it took another payment for 8 weeks. I did email them but have no response whatsoever. The main issue I have though is the limited choice of food, it's all curries, stews, hot pots etc which is great in winter but we're in May now and the thought of going home from work to a curry is completely unappealing. The other issue I find is that Diet Chef claims they provide everything you need for a balance meal, however, I end up providing veg or rice to supplement the meals they send out. I would recommend them, but I would add the caveat to keep a very close eye on their activities, especially when you're ocming close to the end of your order.

“Happy bunny!”

Have used diet chef for a couple of years now and like with all diets, if you stick with it you will lose weight! The meals have come on a LOT since I first had it as a TSV from a shopping channel. I quite like the food but not keen on the snacks, the biscuits are gross, like eating cardboard but they have more savoury snacks now and have done away with the horrible mushroom stroganoff which was GROSS! They have introduced snack pots for lunch rather than just soup which is much better and the cous cous is less slimey! My favourite was the beef in ale which seems to have vanished but I quite like the curries/chinese and the hotpot I have had many offers and various phone dealings with them with a bit of hit and miss good/poor customer service. I also bought the Groupon for £95 and will cancel my current subscription and then use the Groupon. They will soon have another offer on and will take advantage of that. All in all...I like it!

“Shocking Customer Service”

I signed up for an 8 week package and paid my first hamper of £195.00. The next day, I saw an offer on Groupon for 4 weeks food @ £95.00 I havent had the food delivered to me yet and I would like to cancel my order and buy from Groupon (who wouldnt?) I have been advised that if I want to cancel I will be charged £50 even though i have not yet received the items !! Diet Chef will not price match to the groupon deal either

“My order”

My husband and I spent half an hour each picking exactly what meals we wanted from Diet Chef,but when it arrived,they contained the standard menus that are on the website ,before you choose your meals. When I phoned,I was told the boxes had to be returned by courier at my expense ,I told the girl that we worked not far from their depot, but no,they had to be delivered .I asked if I could claim the cost from them, again the answer was no. I said this was unacceptable ,I was then told that they could uplift them ,but I would be charged £15 for each hamper, Then she said that as it was the same address I would only be charged the one £15.again I pointed out it was their fault and that I should charge them for the inconvenience , She then told me they would be uplifted without charge. I have had quite a few hampers in the past and recommended this company to numerous people, but after this,well!!!

“Easy diet to follow”

Have done 3 days, the food is ok, but this diet is Easy! I love the breakfasts and snacks best. Avoid the veg korma.. Yuck! Wish I had ordered more of the pasta lunches.

“Not very nice”

I thought I would give this a try as the tv advert makes it look like it is a complete meal that is provided rather than some of it and you have to provide the rest like carbs and let be honest its the carb side of things most people have issue with anyway. Snacks have been provided but when you actually look at the packaing its not that low in calories. The food is not very pleasant and a couple of times the same meal has tasted different or so bad it has been binned.

I signed up to a 12 week programme. I really don't like the food and don't want to waste another £185. I understand I can pay a £50 admin fee to cancel. Is this correct and what do I need to do? This is no reflection on Diet Chef. I'm just incredibly fussy about food. Thanks
