I have a 5 yr old i-mac 2.16GHz intel core duo with 1 GB ram. Following 12 years of the nightmare called windows, I finally got a computer that works, is highly user friendly, and a joy to use. My Mac has never crashed, locked up, or forced me to re-load the os. The Mac downloading process puts me in charge (as opposed to windows being in charge) and is so easy. The design is so cutting edge, and losing the big heavy box on the floor, with its noise and heat is a godsend. I would never go back to a windows machine. Is a Mac expensive ? Have to say no way - firstly I would have gone through at least 2 windows comps in 5 years, and if you spec a Mac to your choice and compare it to a decent pc manufacturer with same spec, you will be surprised at how little extra a Mac will cost. Mr Bill Gates continues to rip off windows users with constant updates and new os. Apple delivers an os and machine that actually works. Hackers love windows, its always been so easy to hack. Hackers like Apple, and leave them alone. Never had a virus on my Mac, never had an anti virus programme on my Mac - Norton has made a major business out of windows vulnerability.
