I've got a 2011 iMac with 21 inch screen and 4GB memory. It is my first Mac and I was instantly converted. The screen is beautiful and making computing more enjoyable. Videos look great too which is a major plus. I love the fact that you aren't supposed to turn them off every night, which means it starts instantly in the morning as it just stays in "sleep mode" overnight. It can get clogged up a bit so I would definitely splash the cash for a higher spec one in future. Restarting helps when that happens. The keyboard is nice as is the wireless magic mouse. It was very easy to get used to switching from Windows, there isn't that much of a difference.

I do not use a computer for anything specific like games or video editing. But I do use it all day every day. Previously I waited for my Windows machine to boot up everyday. With the iMac I just let it "sleep" at night so it turns on instantly. I restart it once a week which takes 2 minutes. It is fast using the internet and applications. The screen is great. I have an old monitor next to it and the difference is night and day. The colours are bright and clear. It also adjusts brightness depending on the sunlight which is great for my eyes. Before I would get headaches from staring at the screen all day. Now I can sit back and enjoy the bigger sized screen. I have the 21.5 inch screen. One day I would like to get the 27" monitor as an extra screen too. Changing to Mac was easier than I expected. There are some things that are different to Windows but you soon get used to them. The mouse and keyboard are good quality. I also got the Magic Trackpad but I'm preferring the mouse. It has converted me to Apple and I now understand what all the fuss is about. Next on my shopping list is the Macbook Air just to use for travel.

I recently bought an iMac after 20 years of windows. I can recommend the switch from the point of view of ease of use for photos, videos, music, desktop publishing etc. It's worth every penny of the extra price

It is the pleasure to look at, works like a dream and I just like my iMac. With VMware Fusion software, I have a PC and Mac for a price of a Mac. Never had to have it repaired, just have yearly "checkups" for £35,- and it comes up with a clean bill of health. Mine is 27 inches so it doubles up as a TV.

This imac has serious problems. The major issue is that Apple tries to 'avoid' responsibility.
It's had a new LCD screen ( after 6 months). Had to fight 'tooth & nail to get them to replace this.
Now I have a 'dead' pixel...red-dot in the middle of the screen. Apple says this is perfectly acceptable...c'mon!!!
Avoid Apple products until they start being more customer-oriented!
