I am writing this on behalf of my mum, who ordered a red DKNY purse for about £75. She ordered it online and selected the option for click and collect, which would allow her to go into the Oxford Street Selfridges to retrieve it. She went into the store and spoke to their customer service team who said they did not have the purse. They actually didn't have the purse in the entire store either. So, after wasting over an hour speaking to a guy called Josh who tried about 9 times to call some sort of manager without consequence, some useless woman came down from her break to tell her what she already knew. They eventually arranged for Selfridges to courier the package the next day at around 3:30, as we had arranged to go to the cinema at 5:30.
As if it were written in the stars for things to go wrong, it did not arrive, so she called Selfridges at 3:30 asking where the package was. Of course, nobody knew anything about it and she got cut off three times, the latter being an extremely rude person who angrily said, 'We'll call you back'. More calls led to more frustration, and they kept on saying they would speak to click and collect and find out where it was. Turns out that nobody made the order to courier it to her house at 3:30. They then promised that they would call her back at 5:30 and no later. No package in the meantime. They then called a few minutes after half past five, and she said 'Hello'...nobody was even there. She was absolutely livid. What the hell was going on!
We then met up with other family to go to the cinema and a delivery guy called just before we were about to go in. She arranged for the man to come to the cinema and give the purse to her there, as it did not fit through the letterbox. At last, she thought. It must be all over now.
Oh no. Far from it. IT WAS THE WRONG PURSE.
It was a hideous burgundy contraption. She was astounded, flabbergasted...I'm running out of adjectives. Try and imagine it for yourself.
Selfridges, your shop is awful and has a horrible aura. But I have no idea how a huge, huge company like you could get it so disgustingly wrong.
She, along with many others we tell, will NEVER shop at that evil lair ever again, whether it be the revolting shop itself or the disgraceful excuse for a website service. It's still not over.
