I ordered some gift cards and paid for named day delivery, hoping to ensure they arrived in time for onward posting to the recipients.
On the planned day of delivery I received an e-mail to say the order had been delayed by 48 hours. However on contacting customer services and speaking to one of the managers I learnt that the order had not even been despatched on the supposed day of delivery and as this was a Saturday it was virtually impossible that this could be delivered within 48 hours.

On enquiring whether the cards could be returned if they arrived too late I was informed this was not possible for gift cards.

There is the prospect that I shall have to buy alternative presents and will be saddled with gift cards for a store I do not use myself.

Marks and Spencers seem to have an attitude of total disregard for their customers and their level of service falls way short of almost all of their competitors.
If this review would have allowed it I would have awarded no stars as the service is beyond terrible!
